After a few weeks of carry: Thorfire TK18 -> verdict is that it is pretty intuitive by non-enthusists

Having been provided TK18 by Thorfire review (20% off promo code for TK18: 3VSIRROL)

After carrying in for a few weeks here are a few of my thoughts(a thorough review on the light will probably be added via edits)

Pros:
Well machined
Robust
Very nicely done forward clicky with little to no slop.
responsive electronic switch
While the ramping of output is nice to use when runtime is not any issue the predefined modes are nice to use when predetermined runtime IS an issue.

Cons:
IMO a bit long & wide for an urban EDC
Upper half of ramping of modes does take a bit longer than necessary

General Thoughts:
A bit larger than I anticipated. But still -> I hope this means it is more robust. The increased wall thickness & such certainly lead one to hope it is.

On paper I’ve never been a fan of dual switched lights but I can say that this marriage of a forward clicky & a side switch works very well for me (I like using it quite a bit. Then again I might be bias because I boardline love having forward clickys in a light.)

So far this TK18 is much akin to an “old” reliable for me. Although it is new for me it is quickly becoming the light I just grab when I need illumination (& not so much when I just want to play around with a light.) The lite side switch is very handy in seeing how much “fuel” is left in the 18650 cell. Subjectively it feels as if Thorfire has a winner here for a no nonsense light.

I like mine but it’s too big for what i want to do most of the time, which is stick it in a pocket.

The ramping is slow, even Thorfire admits it, they may change it later.

I can never get used to 2 switches!

( though it does enable one to send ‘morse code’ - as if that comes up all the time  )
