Hi, I'm Niels from The Netherlands. Flashlight freak from a young age, and daily user of them.

Hi other flashlight freaks!

So, I’m Niels from The Netherlands.
I really like to go outdoor on camping trips and so on where I use flashlights a lot, and also for my work I use flashlights a lot.
At work I always carry my Convoy S2+ with a Panasonic cell in it.
Also I always carry my Fenix E12 in my left front pocket.
An EDC as thay call it?

Yesterday I received my Klarus Mi7, maybe it will replace the Fenix.

I hope to learn and discuss a lot about flashlights and batterys for them here.

If you have any question feel free to ask.

Greetz, Niels.

Welcome to BLF!

Hey Niels how are you doing man? And welcome to BLF!

Welcome to BLF Niels!

Be aware that a number of members here complain about too many great deals on too many great lights draining their wallets… :person_facepalming:

I suggest you get yourself a BLF A6 and a BLF Q8 to start with. Nothing beats those two. :+1:

I think it’s called “parasitic (money) drain”. :disappointed:

At you German? (Reading your avatar).
I live 4 km. from Germany :).

Bud I’m not here for the huge light canons, more for the practical lights :).
Interested in moonlight mode, and modes in general :).
Maybe modding interfaces and so on.
I don’t have a use for 5000 lumens.
A use for 5 lumens is more lightly.

I live in The Netherlands. I’m also not too interested in a 5000 lumen light. 15000 lumens on the other hand… yes please!

Haha, wow 15000 lumens!?
How would you carry that around?
For hobby purposes I guess?

For me it’s for serious use mostly, bud as an electronics enthusiast I also like to modify and so on :).

First I dig in witch 14500 I best use in my Klarus Mi7.

Currently using Enercig TN14500C-850 3,7V/850 mAh.
Bud the lowest will be at 3V and max drain is 2,4 A, so 7,2 W power for the LED.
I am not sure how much it can consume. Maybe a cell with a higher drain rate is better ?!

Lol
I lost count of how many times i’ve read this statement!
Once you’ve had it in your hands, you’re no the same anymore… if only just for FUN.

There has been a couple AA/14500 dedicated threads lately. Plenty of hints at lights that may or may not fit your needs and taste. Utorch UT01, Lumintop Tool AA, Amutorch S3, Sofirn SP10A/B, Jetbeam Jet I MK, Mi7 of course…

On the 14500 battery chapter the latest best deal in town seems to be the Soshine yellow and whites.

Definitely for fun. I started out with a small 2xAA light, the Fenix LD20. And I was really impressed with it. I justified the purchase of my first “big” light, the Thrunite Catapult V3 with ~800 lumens, so I could walk my dog at night in the woods. I was sold. Since then things got only worse, haha!

Hi and welcome niels.

Hi Niels,
Definitly have a look at the nitecore ea11. Not a budgetlight but really great with some nice features.
If you found this site, i guess, you’re going to collect like the most of us. It always starts with one and eventualy you got 15 keychainlight, 2 srk’s. A copple of throwers a bunge of single 18650’s. And probebly alot of 18650 cells. Also buy a good charger like the liitokala 500. And for dailly deals you can follw some guys here at BLF, see at the homepage, who have alot of promo codes for BG or GB. Dont hurry/ be patient and you can save alot!

There is also a thread from Dutchy’s here on BLF.

I recently sold my Klarus RS30 with 2400 lumens because I never used it on high/turbo.
Sometimes it came in handy when searching a junction box above a sailing ore something.

Bud the virus already struck on me.
Just 2 min. ago I ordered a Skilhunt H03 for work :).

Now searching for a good 18650 to go with it. Haha…

Thanks for the warm welcome:).

Edit:
I ordered a charger, I believe the one you are mentioning.

I also have a simple super small usb charger to go with my solar panel on hiking trips.

Welcome to our forum buddy!
As for the 18650s, you can look towards Samsung 30Q or Sony VTC6. Both of these cells are among the top performers.

Have a nice time here, Niels!

Said the same thing when I got my L6 with 3800 lumens.

Hoi Niels, welkom bij BLF. Oosten van het land. Hm, Tukker?

As you will learn, the B in BLF is more or less a relative word.
To the bank it does not matter if you buy a few expensive lights, or a lot of budget lights.
Or to your wife.

@Henk4U2, haha, Achterhoeker :).

@djozz, a little bit outside of the city will be no problem.
I’m living in a small village, bud bud I think a few light cannons will attract people in my back yard.

* Now orientating on a 26650 flashlight compact in size, with a head no wider or almost no wider than the body with a decent throw.

There is just to much nice stuff for sale.
Reading for hours now on this forum.

Welcome Niels!

The Dutch are invading BLF :smiling_imp:
