Bare led has an expiration date ?

I recently see the nichia 219-b datasheet and view this:

Storage
Before Opening Aluminum Bag—————-Within 1 Year from Delivery Date
After Opening Aluminum Bag——————-≤168hours

So, acording to that the leds “expires” 1 year later of the opening aluminium original bag, and thats only if reseal the reel in the same aluimium Bag.

Any info about all of this?

Yeah, if they absorb moisture, the mfr isn’t going to guarantee their performance.

Keeps the ones who buy the LEDs from storing them in a dank basement somewhere then hitting the mfr for “defective” chips.
