I hate when I’m ready to get a knife and it’s find out no longer available, even worse when I could have got one but held off - only to find they’re not being produced anymore, I got a few on my list like that too.
One I had put off was the Kershaw Skyline fixed blade. I had even seen them dirt cheap and still held off, later to find out it was discontinued. I managed to snag a new scale less blade. Need to make scales and a sheath sometime…
I do it with other stuff like flashlights and ecigs all the time too. The ecig I am using right now, I wanted to get a backup but put it off, and now can not find it anywhere. Found it one place, I think maybe dhgate, but got to buy 5 minimum…
Some of these knives I can’t understand why they discontinued them, for instance the Sanrenmu GB-763 (with G10 scales). It seemed to be very popular. They still make a version but with aluminum scales. After they became discontinued I saw them on ebay being resold for stupid high prices.
For a while I kept a list of discontinued knives I was interested in finding, (around 20) but I decided to just move on, since there’s so many others and new ones I want!
There is so many more, but the selection of quality budget switchblades is very, very small…
Have you seen these? Ganzo G719 clones with carbon fiber or G10.
The Original Ganzo G719’s were only in G10 and only had a scale on one side (Button side only) These clones have the scales on both sides. I have a Ganzo G719 (black G10) and it’s basically a precision work of art. Really high quality for the $18 I paid for it. These do look the same.
