After more than a month of carry I think it works well as an EDC light assuming you like the 18650 platform; especially configured in 4 mode as the ramping is a bit slow. Where it really shines- no pun intense- as as single mode light for a person who needs different outs on occasions and doesn’t want a lot of light.
I lay out my case for this idea in this video. Bottomline, the Thorfire TK 18 is a worthy contender if you are looking for a sub $30 18650 light that can be found on Amazon.
