Well done, I never could get level 3 tip clean; depending on replacement cost of tip I might give this a go. Thank You for this instructional video.

Thanks for posting that, it’s a great visual example of how important a clean tip is to successful soldering.
The video clearly shows how oxidation interferes to prevent proper tinning. Reading about it is one thing, seeing a nice closeup demo like this drives it home.
Love how these videos prevent DIYers from having to figure this stuff out the hard way. Or worse; getting frustrated and just giving up because they think they lack the skill!

Apart from some new info, that video has a lot of Zen in it, 15 minutes of watching solder tips with relaxing music, it was late at night and I had a good night’s sleep after that. Thanks! :laughing:
