Color me dumb, but I assumed they have their own currency. Do they use USD there?

Has someone already done the conversion? Assuming they use Rand, Maybe he’s asking 8,166 Rand for a GT?

I dont really care, I’m just passing time. Silly

I group the Customs Dept in with the “postal system”.

Once it leaves Lumintop, it is out of LT and Neal’s hands. We are at the mercy of the postal system.

Yes, I am discussing the selling lights outside of the GB with them, that issue is still in the works. I will just say I can’t entirely blame them for what they are doing, but am not happy at all with how they were doing it.

So the “delays” for shipping the GB lights weren’t genuine after all, and they were selling out the back door? And they actually did have lights that supposedly didn’t exist?
I recall a week or two ago you said unequivocally they weren’t shafting the GB??? And that you heard from Neal and Lumintop that the reflector sourcing was the reason for the delays….
Seems to me the GB could have been paved-over some time ago.

I think the quantity Lumintop has sold outside GB is really not enough causing such a long delay.
I believe the delay was mostly due to slow in producing quality reflector, expensive shipping cost to remote area that Neal/Lumintop try to solve before asking buyer to pay more and CNY holiday.

That is true I know Lumintop did sell a lot to a person in South Africa. He selling it now for 700USD plus with batteries included.

How do you know he has a lot? Maybe he has a few in stock and high order quantity will need to be shipped from Lumintop directly.

Let’s have a conspiracy theory. If he can get big customer for example military to buy 100 GT at USD650 per piece, Lumintop should serve that order first. I personally will look down Lumintop if they don’t serve that order first. I hope Lumintop earn more money outside this GB or any future GB, so that Lumintop becomes long term GB partner producing high quality flashlight. Smart partner is better than stupid partner.

cool i'll see you when you get there

No need for paypal claim. Contact Neal first.

Just so you know, in my years shipping internationally I have been surprised more time then you would think when a package would take 60 days or more to clear customs. I also had a few cases where the package just disappeared for over 3-4 months and then suddenly turned up on my doorstep one day.

They ran out of the AR glass lenses, they have not been able to ship any lights due to this. They are supposed to get 1000 lenses late next week. So shipments should start again after that.

Do you all think we could just DROP the chatter about the few lights sold outside the GB by LT??

It is serving no purpose at all.

Go back and read what TA has said about it numerous times…..

  • Believe it.
  • Don’t believe it.

But quit talking about it. It is done & water under the bridge… talking about it will not change one thing.

If you don’t like it, I understand that. Thumbs Up

If you just can’t live with it or let it go, ask for a refund & be done. Thumbs UpThumbs Up

Either way…. this constant chatter about it is getting old…. Beer

For the record, lumintop has been very clear that they will be completing the GB, even though they would make a lot more money selling the light publicly.

I had a long conversation with several people about the profit / loss on the GB so far and I am now quite sure I am getting the truth.

They have actually lost money at this point on the GB, a fair amount actually. And if all goes well by the time the GB is over the best they are hoping for is to just break even.

The costs on everything have been much higher then they expected. They never guessed how much more a large light like this would cost.

So the reason they have been selling some publicly is to try to make a profit on the GT before the competing lights that are being made go to market.

Now like I said before, I can understand why they are doing this, I also want them to turn a profit on the light. If they loose money that is not good for anyone. I do not approve in any way how they were doing it though, the underhanded messages have to stop.

We are discussing options moving forward and I will update ya’ll as I know more but rest assured that lumintop has every intention of completing this GB.

To be clear, officially the GB just guaranteed a cheaper price, when we started this it was not guaranteed first access. It was just assumed.

Which brings up another point, the retail price will be $325 after the GB with coupons possibly bringing it down to around $250 is what I am hearing. So that makes the $157 for the remaining GB buyers an even better deal.

I almost wished they would skip out on the rest of the GB, this entire ordeal has been a drain on my life for the last 6 months, I am so ready for it to be over. Not to worry, I am not going to leave but it sure is tempting sometimes.

I guess the people that are in the 3rd batch GB is not going to receive PM anytime soon. Its almost the end of March.

Well, we could rush the PM’s and risk making some of the same mistakes as last time or we can spend the time needed to fix the issues from last time, learn from them and then hopefully not repeat them next time.

I vote for the latter option.

Plus since we are still limited by the reflector production rate it would not really speed up the actual shipping times anyways.

But if you take our money now, itt gives us more time to complain & threaten pay pal disputes:) (/sarcasm)

That means you hace your GT? I I can assure the GT sent registered to Spain in the same day have arrived in 3 weeks for one and 6-7 weeks for other and definitely the Team,Neal or LT cannot do nothing to change that – at least we happy not having to pay other issues that would mean for some cases easily more then 100$ – hope everybody have more patience that usually needed, so everyone from the GB could get their piece ,i can tell you all, just like so3 many others, the waiting is worth it and even if things seem to not go to fast, there is somebody behind that is trying to do the best

Options are being discussed. I am trying to find the best compromise for all involved.

right now they don’t have any to sell, so it is kind of a moot issue till that changes.

It won’t work, people will leak the code end up many in the list not able to purchase. Unless they can find an online store willing to generate 650 unique coupons and send to each individual. That’s a lot of work unless it’s automated.

To be fair, it is no different then what we are doing now. The system is working on trust right now. Although we are looking at ways to improve things.
