Greetings from Malaysia

Hi there, I’m from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Happened to stumble upon this forum when I was surfing the EDCforums. Have a feeling that this forum could be a hit with the average Joe (or Jane!) who just like flashlights just the way they are, for me it’s the budget variety. I guess some of us would like to get the best bang for their buck.
Like most of you guys, I too could not stand the snobbery and one upmanship of some of the other forums, so I never bothered registering there.
I guess I’ve always been fascinated with flashlights ever since I got a 2 AA Eveready torch when I was a kid.

Thank you.

welcome

Hey there Kel, thanks for stopping by! Enjoy, you're always welcome.

Welcome - enjoy your time here.

Hello,

another newbie from Malaysia..been a flashaholic for few years now. It all started when i was/still working with a local airline. Part of my job there requires visual inspection on aircraft during the night and also dark small places inside the aircraft. Guess i really need a good portable light source. Started with SF G2 incan and now the list goes on and on. Mix of medium price and budget lights from 4Sevens to DX/KD lights. really like some of DX/KD offerings such as Ultrafire SS C3 and UF RL SS 118. Well..thats it for now.

PS: BTW anybody know any good C cell size light?

Good to have you here. Enjoy your stay!

I certainly don't own any desirable and affordable C cell lights - I have a far from budget Elektrolumens Tri-blaster which needs some updating, and a Streamlight TwinTask clone. I can get more light for less size and weight and money these days.

I'd be interested to see if anyone does come up with interesting C lights

Hi there icaruz, great to see that we have members from all over the world. A warm welcome to you! And very interesting to see that budget lights are even good enough to be used for mission critical, life-and-death tasks like aircraft inspection.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Wandering why DX/KD never offer C cell lights. thinking of getting the Life+Gear 210 lumens at cosco, on sale right now at US49 for 2 packs. Need this type of alkaline lights for gifts to my father in law. Just dont want to introduce rechargeables to him and also to replace his trusty old Eveready 2C lights. Guess he prefer this 2C size more than others.

I mostly rotate my duty lights anywhere from Legion II to MG PLI. Guess i like both end of the spectrum and anything in between. The SS lights are very tough, so i normally keep them in the toolbox.

You might want to show him an AA size light......these days you get more output in a smaller light then the big boys.

I did. Shown him my Dereelight Javelin and my old fenix L2D, the tube is too small for his quite big hands..well according too him that is.

maybe i will give him a 2C Mag but i need to buy the terralux upgrade..both are expensive here in Malaysia.

But i can see that smile on him now.......

hi, student/newbie from perak, malaysia

and looking for the best bang for the buck online

*ps sorry for necroposting

Aloha and welcome to BLF vincenthooi!

Wandering why DX/KD never offer C cell lights

They don't because they're essentially alkaline only (expensive to operate for the kind of places where these cheap lights are popular), and aren't any brighter anyway. Plus shipping costs more (factored into the "free ship" price) on heavier lights so demand is decrease further.
