Is there anything the size of the DQG with USB?

I am considering the DQG but I still worry if the most recent design still has issues, I liked the first DQG versions that the Led was separate of the driver but never convinced myself into buying one.

Looking for a really small 18650 light, I like the size and form of the DQG but would like to be able to charge via USB if possible.

I already have a Manker U11 and a Zebralight, looking for something smaller… Anything good out there?

There are 18650 cells that come with a built-in charger.
Maybe put one into DQG Tiny?

Do note that DQG Tiny’s length changes with battery length. So if a protected fits (I don’t have any to check), it will still make the light 5 mm longer.

Is there still problems with the DQG switch breaking off? Since the 4th has been out for a while. Anyone knows if a 5th generation is in the works?

Just came to my mind…how about reinforcing the switch with some glue? It’s easily accessible…

Yup, but maybe it fits AlexGT needs! Perhaps it is possible to change the LED or the reflector with a TIR lens Wink

I ordered the Folomov EDC-C4, I had a balance on my Amazon account and will receive it today! Talk about instant gratification Party

If I don’t like the tint I might change it for something of my liking.

Not as small as DQG Tiny 4th, but Jetbeam EC-R26 is pretty small and has USB charging. R26 is smaller than Convoy S2+.

In this pic, DQG is 4th from the right. R26 is 7th from the right.

Eagle Eye X2R

Thanks for the suggestion, that light is 122mm long, the DQG is 88mm and the Folomov is 99mm, I really wanted a short 18650 light and apparently the folomov checks on all my requirements + it has a cell charger, will find out this afternoon when I get it.

I’ve been on the “eternal” quest for the most compact 18650 (side switch) light for years.

Have held off on the DQG Tiny 4th (87mm) because of reported switch failures.
Zebralight SC64 (92.5 mm) looks great but I haven’t got to the point of wanting to spend $80 on one small light.

I don’t need USB charging but I wouldn’t mind a magnetic docking charging system like on the Olight S2R.
Olight S2R………………. (105mm)….. $72.95 (but it’s too long and also expensive)

.
Here’s the smallest ones I’m aware of with built in USB charging:

Folomov EDC-C4…… (99mm)…….$49.00 https://www.amazon.com/FOLOMOV-Rechargeable-Flashlight-Switch-lock-Prote...
Nitenumen C8………. (99mm)…….$19.99 https://www.amazon.com/Flashlight-3400mAh-Battery-Rechargeable-Nitenumen...
Ultratac S20………… (100mm)……$25.99 https://www.amazon.com/UltraTac-Flashlight-Rechargeable-Ultra-Compact-Wa...

Unfortunately none of these offer a NW version.
I’ve been waiting at least five years for Olight to offer a NW version and they still don’t.

.
The Nitenumen C8 appears to be the same body as the Folomov EDC-C4 but with stainless bezel.
EDIT I just realized the Nitenumen the has a large-ish rectangular protruding area for the USB jack, the Folomov doesn’t. But since the switch is directly opposite, it may serve to help readily locate the switch in the dark.

I really like the stainless bezel. I’ve been trying unsuccessfully for days to get clarification from Nitenumen on the UI specifics, but language barrier seems to be an issue. In one of the photos it shows the Strobe and SOS as being “concealed” modes, however a comment in the review leads me to think otherwise.

The Ultratac S20 does have hidden strobe: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/59499

.
I’m really surprised after all these years nothing has come down the pike in the size realm of the DQG Tiny 4th, I probably should just get one already and look into to reinforcing the switch, maybe with glue/epoxy or something as Argo suggested. (glue/epoxy was also brought up several times in the Tiny 4th threads, as well as re-soldering/adding solder to the switch mounting pads)

"Over 2000000 hours (about 200 years) standby time"  (DQG Tiny 4th)

"27,157 results for zoomable flashlight" (ebay)

I like them a lot, the USB charging is very accurate, and the cell is Protected, which is important to me in case I fall asleep with the light on Wink

Protected, no charger needed, and does not make the flashlight useless while charging. Win Win Win

Slightly longer than the U11 and maybe not quite small enough to be relevant in this discussion, however the Manker U12 looks pretty good too:
