The reason I had this light built over your typical Convoy S2 or S2+ is because the host was designed to be a triple, and does not require a spacer. The MCPCB sits directly on the shelf of the flashlight providing immediate heat transfer to the body of the flashlight. The other main advantage of the E2L over the Convoys is that the front bezel unscrews and you can interchange the optic without having to solder and disassemble the light. If you feel like having a floody light one day, swap the optic. If you want a narrow spot, swap it again. I personally really like the 10511 optic on the light, as it creates a really smooth transition from spot to spill. The 10507 (narrow spot) has a very sharp cutoff which I did not like nearly as much. The light is incredibly bright, noticeably more than the equivalent Nichia 219C. Host and driver is compatible with protected and unprotected 18650 batteries, both button top and flat top.
