Should only cost me around $140 to send these out to everyone. lol

I think that is roughly $5 per tube. I’ll gladly pay you $5 to cover my expense. It’s no big deal.

Wow, I was thinking if TA measured it before at let’s say 21,000 lm, then it might turn out to actually be closer to 15,000 lm once he uses a .68 or .70 correction factor. But your still seeing 19,000? That’s huge.

Yeap.. I can’t just make up the number.. why would I do that? I think TA driver is the biggest reason that gives crazy lumen.. of course Sony vtc5a, and bypass spring also help out..

Thanks for the offer to cover the costs everyone. I will have a better estimate on the final costs once I get the laser cutting finished.

To be honest it would be easier on me if everyone could send me like $0.10 cents with paypal as a goods purchase just so that I can get your addresses again with an easy to print shipping label option. If someone wanted to pay more that is fine as well but not required.

At this point trying to find all the sphere payments and print the labels manually would be a job all its own.

In fact I think this is a better option, I honestly could not figure out how I was going to find all the prior payments without manually going through hundreds of paypal transactions manually since they are all archived now.

My paypal address is www.Paypal.me/TexasAce

If everyone that ordered could send a small payment for goods in any amount you desire, it is just so I can get the address, that would make my life a lot easier.

If people want to cover your costs on them, each domestic fix is looking to be around $4 if there are no surprises. International I would have to check on but since it should be able to ship with the normal mail service, it should only add like $1-2 for shipping to most locations.

I am going to the laser cutters later today to get this ball rolling.

I get about 27.5k startup lumens on my MT09RTA with TA lumen tubes whereas using my previous ceiling bounce standard, I was getting 22.8k startup lumens. I think TA gave mine a rating of 23k.

Thanks for the payments guys, and just to make sure it is clear, While I am very grateful for those that want to cover the expense of the fix, all I am requesting is a small payment of a few cents so I don’t have to go find the old payments. Saves me ~5-10 minutes per order depending how far it is buried.

Anyone that desires to send more, I am very grateful. Smile

So you get the addresses again with an easy to print shipping label, do we need to send this “Friends and Family” or “Goods and Services” ?

Pretty sure I sent it “Friends and Family” for the tube but I added my address in the message field. But I don’t think that would have created a automatic shipping label.

With friends and family you pay the the paypal fee, $0.45 on $5. With goods and services it deducts the fee from the payment, so for $5 TA recieves $4.55. So either way is good, it just changes what he recieves.

I also added my username and address in the notes field just in case.

Ok, I got in late last night and didn’t update the thread. I was able to get half of the discs cut yesterday. I am going to try to get the rest done today or tomorrow.

They should ship out by Monday.

I am also going to get some pictures of how to install them.

Correct, goods and services is best this time around since it is mostly about the address and shipping label and less about the money. I can still make the label manually if it is included in the notes, just takes a bit of extra work, still easier then finding the old payments though.

Actually either way is not good, I know about how paypal fee’s work, my question for TA was pertaining to him being able to easy print a shipping label, which does not happen with Friends and Family.

Ok, a long day of Laser cutting, testing, installing and working later I have now finished cutting all the correction disks and testing them out by installing them in the 13 spheres I have left here.

I am very happy with the results. Even after installing all the disks only 1 out of the 13 spheres was outside of my +/-5% tolerance range goal and it was 6%. So 7%+/- seems very reasonable for an official rating.

This is also comparing it to my new “standard” light which I did not have the first time around, so I am even more happy about that Party

That is enough for me to consider this a success personally since that is the hardest part.

It is also good enough for me to say they are ready to ship out.

So Tomorrow I am going to try to get all of the people that have sent a payment for the address shipped out. If anyone has not sent a payment now is a good time to do it. I have not checked the exact numbers but looks like about ~2/3 to 3/4 have sent their address just glancing at it.

Once again big thank you for those that chose to cover the cost of the fix.

Also, those 13 spheres I installed the correction disks into are for sale for anyone that missed the Group buy.
