On The Road X5 Pro - multi-use thrower

Just came across this in Banggood, not sure if it’s a newer model? Looks like it’s been around since 2014 and this is v3, (the shortest length variation yet) but surprisingly I couldn’t find anything on the forum for it or any of the previous versions. (I know about the smaller sized standard X5)

In the Aliexpress ON THE ROAD Official Store they’re calling it the X5 “Ultimate”

Anyone have one?

Since it’s not offered with a HI emitter I suppose it’s designed for all-around use with decent throw.

With an emitter swap it looks like it would be a good mid size thrower similar in size as the Utorch UT02 / Catapult V6, although for the money those would likely be better options for a dedicated thrower. But this looks nice too and I’ve had great luck with On The Road, so I’m curious about it.

I sure like the On The Road M6 you steered me toward.

Yeah that the light I was referring to when I wrote “I’ve had great luck with On The Road”

I’ve EDC used and abused that light for many years and it hasn’t skipped a beat. That’s more than I can say for my now useless Utorch UT01.

At $57 rather buy another Utroch UT2

Birds of a slightly different feather…

(It’s an XM-L2 / XP-L flashlight)

From the OP:

And at $50, I think I’d rather buy Lumintop ODF30.

There’s no question better lights can be had for the price (or for less)

This light has a much larger reflector than ODF30, but both the ODF30 and Thrunite TC20 would likely out-flood and out-throw it, just by sheer lumen output.
