Hi BLFers!

For almost a year and half I’ve been learning a lot here, sharing some experiences, spending lots of money in lights that – if I thought deeply about that – I don’t “really” need :person_facepalming: , and I’ve also gained lights and other materials (from members and manufacturers)!

I am grateful for this and, in some way, I want to reciprocate all these things! Yeah, I know that it may be hard, but…I’ll try! :smiley:

So, I´ve been thinking to make a Giveaway (my first) here on the Forum! At first I wasn’t sure about what to make, but I’ve been making my mind and ended up this decision!

I will GAW a FW3A flashlight!

Many of you are probably familiarized with the TLF / BLF special FW3A! For those who are not, here’s the thread where you can find more information and, eventually, subscribe to purchase a light as well: FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

The FW3A is a project that will take some time to be done (as you can read on that thread’s #1 post), and some aspects/specs are not defined yet! Hence the title of this GAW: “A GIVEAWAY that may take a while :wink:

Despite this, here are my definitions, conditions and rules for this GAW:

1) to be a member of BLF before this GAW’s opening (new members subscribed on BLF after this GAW opening time will not be considered);

2) say that you are IN for the GAW in a creative way, always complying with BLF rules (I will not assess creativity, I just find it entertaining :wink: );

3) the GAW starts today (19th april) and ends when I receive the notification to pay and ship the 2nd light I subscribed for on FW3A’s thread ;

4) when I get that notification, I will draw the winner on the 3rd attempt at https://www.random.org/ . The winner’s name will be posted here (on the top of post #2 ) and I will contact the winner via PM to proceed to the correct light’s shipment;

5) if the winner doesn’t answer in a 4 days period (more or less), I will draw a new winner through the same method as stated on point 4);

6) I will update post #2 with the list of people that are IN. Numbers will be from 33 to “N” (just because :smiley: );

7) to keep the thread easy to follow and to update, please avoid making multiple posts / comments (this is a forum and we are free to comment, so this is just a kind request :blush: to easy my task);

8) After the GAW is over, title will change and a post will be writen to inform about it.

If you have any doubt, feel free to ask! :wink:

Thanks BLF members for all the knowledge sharing and also the funny moments one can experience here :wink:
Best regards :sunglasses:

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT [27th April 2019]

Congrats to member Ormbett whose entry ( #50 ) was the winner.

I will now contact you through Personal Message. In case I don’t have a reply within the next 4 days, I will draw another winner, accordingly to the rules set in post #1!

Once again, thank you to all that participated in this GAW! I wish I can do another soon, so don’t forget to check it and to be IN :sunglasses:

GAW IS CLOSED! NO MORE ENTRIES!

Knee-deep IN :smiley:

Nice giveaway :slight_smile:

I’ll take one

Let me see if I can get in….

Oh yeah - I’m in. I’m a handsome devil aren’t I?

Sexy little critter .I’m in.

Count me in for this one!

Edit: That wasn’t very creative of me. Let’s see what we can do about that.

I want to win a giveaway,
but I’m from Canada, and they always say:

“Ships CONUS, or else you pay”
But I didn’t see that note today

So here I am, I hope I win
and I hope it includes damn shippin’

Oh wow what a creative giveaway. I’m totally IN!

Very Nice :+1:

I am the negation of out for this GAW!

Fun giveaway. Count me in! Can’t wait for the FW3A to be released!

EDIT: Just want to come back and say that I actually wasn’t so sure about the design/appearance of the FW3A at first. I didn’t like the hard ledges at the top and bottom of the battery tube. But I went back and looked at the thread (after already joining this GAW! :person_facepalming: ) and saw that the prototype now has a ramping shape on it, and looks really good. So, now I REALLY want one! :innocent:

A guy of Muggle persuasion

Happen on BLF one occasion.

For a charger he searched

Then converted and churched

In the Flashaholic congregation.

Our convert, then one day did find

A giveaway, for which he pined.

He sez " Thanks, I'm in!"

"And sure hope I win,

Custom light that's a nice, rare find!"

I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees, I write award-winning operas, I manage time efficiently. Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row.

I woo women with my sensuous and god-like trombone playing. I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook Thirty-Minute Brownies in 20 minutes. I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love and an outlaw in Peru.

Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello…I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I’m bored, I build large suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang-gliding. On Wednesdays, after school, I repair electrical appliances free of charge.

I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy evening wear. I don’t perspire, I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail…Last summer I toured New Jersey with a travelling centrifugal force demonstration…My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me.

I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening. I have performed several covert operations for the CIA. I sleep once a week; when I do sleep, I sleep in a chair. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. The laws of physics do not apply to me.

I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid. On weekends, to let off steam, I participate in full-contact origami. Years ago, I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four-course meals using only a mouli and a toaster oven. I breed prize-winning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis. But I have not yet won a single BLF Giveaway.

I’m in. As well as my obvious plagiarism of Hugh Gallagher.

Can’t beat all of the above.
Just have to add a very small cupholder to my walking-stick. That is …if I win.
