Help me to upgrade a flashlight

Hello guys. Long time without posting here…

I have a old xml cool white led flashlight that I want upgrade with something better, maybe brighter and in neutral color. What will be my best option? I dont want to change the driver. Thanks guys.

XP-L if you want ~15% brighter.

Yes, XP-L or XP-L2 is the way to go. You’ll need the LED mounted, since it has a different footprint size than the XM-L, so I don’t think you can just remount the LED on the same board. The same driver should be fine.

The easiest solution is to just buy a new flashlight, unless there’s something about your old one that you really like and can’t find in new lights.

Or reflow to a nice high-bin XM-L2 for a similar beam pattern.
