Please take my AA flashlight survey!

I’m working on having a light manufactured for promotional purposes for my company and figured I’d spent some time really trying to get the UI right so that I could possibly sell any leftovers when the promotion is done. I would love to hear the community’s input on mode spacing and a couple of other things.

Done. I hope it goes well with your promotion.

Aside: You joined in February, but this is your first post? Should I say Welcome to BLF?

Thanks.

Been researching quietly for quite a while now!

Done as well. Answered how I’d like my ideal sub-1K lumen light to be.

Done!

Done. And Welcome

Getting lots of responses here with some great info. Thanks to all who are participating. Keep them coming!

Definitely good info to post!

Survey done. Would be nice to see the results when completed

Survey submitted.

I’d be interested to see what you come up with

I haven’t had too many lights, but I find that lots of modes is just kind of annoying because it’s hard to gauge “where you are”.

My sofirn SF14 has only 3 which works pretty well.
My H03 has 8 modes (in 2 ranges) which is just way too many.

For me, it depends on the light. For hiking/camping, I’d want a lot of focus on preserving battery life, so something like, firefly, 1-3 lumen, a camp range of maybe 20-40 lumen?, and one high mode of 100-200.

I hate seeing AA lights where the “medium” mode is over 100 lumens and only lasts 4-5 hours. That’s just impractical IMO.

For a light that will stay at home, I don’t have to worry about battery life as much.

Submitted. I definitely like a light that starts on moonlight and has no disco modes.

Answered  I’ll be looking forward to see the results
And let us know when you start selling!

Best regards and welcome!! :+1:

Survey answered. Both the questions and selectable answers are on point, so lurking paid off, eh

Also, welcome to BLF!

survey completed

I did your survey. My only additional comment is that users of flashlights received from promotional gifts, are likely very different from the flashaholics taking your survey. For general users, you want to keep the UI very simple and basic. For flashaholics, the UI should require a 10-page spreadsheet to operate.
