New Nitecore i4 making clicking noise

I just received a Nitecore i4 charger today. Plugged it in and put in 4 of my 30Q’s to charge. It seems to be working fine but is making a rhythmic feint clicking noise where it does three clicks in sync with the blinking status LED’s, pauses, then goes again. Is this normal?

With 4 cells, it will time share a couple of the slots. That noise is probably just it switching the charge between slots.

I have the I4 but don’t use it anymore, however I don’t remember ever hearing any clicking sounds when I did use it. I may get it out today and try it just to see.

They’re very very faint. With mine, I can hear it if the room is totally quiet. It charged my cells no problem, it’s just a weird thing that I’m not used to even if it’s normal.

Anyone have more info on this? Bought this charger about 2 weeks ago and just noticed the ticking today. It’s noticeable enough I’m sure I would’ve heard it earlier if it were ticking from day 1. Should I be concerned?

Mine does the same thing. Been using it for about 4 months or so now. It’s been doing just fine. Charging great with no other issues. I just figured it was some kind of micro relay or something on the inside. I don’t really know what would cause it but it doesn’t seem to affect the way it performs. I can barely hear it unless it’s dead quiet and I’m really listening for it.

Thanks, I was getting worried since I’ve never heard it from a charger before. I think I hear it so well because my charger sits right next to my good ear when I’m at my computer desk. I’ll pay close attention for a couple days JIC, but if you’ve been hearing it and the performance has remained fine I feel a lot better about it.
