I’d go for both the purple and the cyan as they are, but I wouldn’t be opposed to a more teal cyan or a darker/more blue purple.

Yep… I’d love to see the L6 in one (or more) of these colors.

I like the purple a lot as it is.

However the orange and cyan are a bit dull or too pastel for may taste. They would need to be a bit darker i think.

I would love a gold one, if it looks shinny and not grainy like the clear ano we have on the S2 and L6.

It seems nobody offers a plain white ano?

Now, a true copper or brass S2+ Love

How about copper? I think that’s being made now too.

Please let me know if this light is still available and where to buy. I have dreams about a copper S2!

AWESOME!!

Thanks, I’m buying more than one.

Did Convoy come up with this on their own or did someone on here push this along?

Is there a thread or somewhere I can keep up on the progress?

Love

Agreed with the rubber boots. I prefer the look of the metal button, but I think I remember reading it had some water resistance issues – were those ever fixed?

I tend to favor deeper, more saturated colors with less of a shine but I get that there are some real limits on what can be done with colored anodized aluminum.

In general, colored anodized aluminum has a cheap vibe for me, with a particular dislike of “gold” and “copper” finishes, but there are plenty of examples that escape that vibe. Just getting rid of any polished areas really helps.

I like the Red S2+ I have, and I think I’d like the blue one, too, but I don’t have one for reference. I think my favorite red is the one on the red Astrolux A01. I don’t know how much of it is the dye color they used, but I’m sure that the texture of the metal before anodizing has a lot to do with making it look deep and rich.

So, all that said, none of the three really speak to me. The purple, orange and cyan-blue would probably interest me, if they were more saturated, but, it seems pretty clear to me that isn’t what Simon is going for here. This looks like a new color family.

I showed the photos to my wife (who is kind of a genius when it comes to color), and her first reaction was that they were “girly.” She then added that they might not make the same impression if they were pictured in isolation from one another, or in a different color context. I asked if she’d want any of them, and she said “oh yeah, the purple, and the turquoisish.” For what it is worth, just this morning she was admiring the pleasing thingness of the Convoy S9 I gave her earlier this year, including its deep, matte, blackness.

J-Dub74-

No offense but the colors are not appealing to me at all. Cheap, cheesy, and ugly.

Most refer to Simons Convoy lights to be the top of the Convoys.

As an option, then great for more variety.

I would like to see more of the Sand, Brown, OD green, OD Green/Black combo colors.

I like the orange. If it was brighter or more of a burnt orange, I’d like that too.

Not a big fan of the purple or cyan but I can see why people would buy them. Folks might like to get one of each or buy one in a particular color for a particular person. If the orange becomes available, I’d buy one with a different tint from my other Convoy S2+ lights for sure. Smart thinking on Convoy’s part.

I also prefer a satin feel but have no real preference over a metal switch or rubber. Bistro would be a really nice option too.

If people are listening, I’d LOVE a dark Maroon flashlight. Can’t say that I’ve seen one like that.

That copper S2+ will be a heavy weight!
Any ETA for it?
I guess it will be a limited edition?

Convoy is Simon’s brand. If a light isn’t from Simon, it’s not a Convoy. There have been some cheap imitations with the same name on them, but they were fakes.

exactly.. Those pics were on a facebook page…People got excited, Neal posted that comment… Essentially the new colors s2+ are not available.. He had a c8+ and the copper s2+ pic up and said this :
“ the C8+ and S2+ copper available[”
So I was trying to find the elusive copper S2+ . I think I succeeded, I have one coming now. Not many were made and a few are going out to ‘traders’ ….. so the copper s2+ exists

anyone in NE ILLinois into get togethers?

Hi all. Sorry I haven’t been able to keep up entirely. Thank you for all the feedback. Simon and I both appreciate it. In case there is any confusion these are color samples not production lights. I’ve been a Convoy color pusher since I saw the red S2+ and we’ve seen some nice results. Purple and orange were the two I’ve pushed hardest for since the green S2+ as I personally like those colors but more importantly they are what I heard the most call for from the BLF community.

My thoughts/comments:
As for the purple color my response to Simon before I even posted the color pictures was that I’d like to see a darker purple with a little more blue. Smile I’m glad to see so many similar comments as I always try to advise Simon based on what I feel will be the most popular. He has passed this along to the factory. Thumbs Up

The copper S2+ mentioned by a few is indeed a solid copper S2+ but the pictures you’ve seen are from a small quantity test run. Simon is not satisfied enough with the finish on this run to go full production yet but don’t give up on that front. I do believe it will happen though I don’t want to make any promises just yet.

The C8+ is for sale in the Convoy store now. It is only available in Desert Tan at this time.

As for the talk of/wishes for a AA sized mini-S2+ Cool No comment… Wink

I’m making no comment to count me in on a few of the AA mini S2+ and voting for a special edition copper on this as well… Wink
