Anyway, if they are indeed having difference of 350m measured by forumer, I think it is quite funny to know Astrolux and Haikelite were using offset numbers quite close to each other to boast their flashlight throw distance.
1587-1200 = 387m. I wonder is it possible they engage the same test house to perform the test and cause this offset from reality.

cool i'll see you when you get there

This seems like a better deal than the sc26 group buy that I am in. I am about ready to back out if that group buy. It’s going terribly.

I can highly recommend the MT07S (70.2). Great machining and finish; the light feels really good in the hand. And the output is just amazing. It’s just a joy to use, and the price doesn’t get better than this.

How does it compare to the xhp 35 model? I have a q8 and an l6 for the medium distance stuff.

I only have the L6, and the beam is pretty comparable (70.2 version). Output of the MT07S 70.2 is about 20% higher than the stock L6. The output of the L6 does reduce with depleting cells which is not the case with the Haikelite.
There is just very little info regarding the 35 version. I think the 35 is an interesting light. It’s not a dedicated thrower like the TN42 or the MF02 with a huge reflector. The MT07S is much more compact and although not too comfortable, it actually is pocketable. I call it a sub thrower.
So for its size you get quite some throw with ~200 kcd intensity. So the 35 is less bright compared to the 70, but you definitely have a tighter more intense hotspot, also relative to the L6 and Q8.

Should I go with the 70 or 35? And why?

How does it compare against q8?

Pros: More throw for both versions, especially the HI version.

Stable brightness as the cells drain in the light

Possibility to install a Lexel buck driver to get the best UI ever.

Better tint than the Q8 with the MT07S HI version, which uses an 80CRI 4800k emitter from my knowledge.

That added weight means it almost does not thermal throttle, even at max, per u/Zak or Zak Wilson’s review.

Cons: Worse UI out of the box. For the XHP 70.2, worse tint than the BLF Q8.

I see that even the 70.2 variant offers nice throw, 75-96 kcd depending who measured it. About twice that of Q8.
I spent too much on lights recently….but I’m in.
Did anybody do a resistor mod?

Resistor mod is possible, but I would not do it personally.

That is because I’m going with Lexel’s buck driver with NarsilM for this light.

Really, I think it would be best with 2s battery mod and TA.
But I’m not about to do it yet.

GT driver would be a major upgrade, but a major cost as well….so I’ll pass on it.

Or just keep the stock driver. The UI is quite nice, and using a 4S battery setup allows for constant 4500 lumens.

And besides, the Lexel buck driver is only 6$ more than the TA driver, and allows for constant brightness regulation.

For this type of light, I prefer constant brightness since I like that a lot.

Been watching this deal since it was posted. Finally broke down and registered for it. For $46 I figure what the heck. Plus it will be my first HaikeLite.

I’m in for the “ HaikeLite MT07S HI Upgrade Version 3000Lumens CW/NW Long Range LED Flashlight 1200M – Black Cool white light “ version with the SMO reflector.

Which is the better thrower ? NW 4800K or CW 6500K ???

Thank You M4D M4X Beer

The better thrower will always be the one with a lower color temperature.

Lower color temperature=lower wavelength=higher range=better thrower

Also, the 4800k version of both the XHP 70.2 and XHP35HI are 80CRI, versus the 6500k 70CRI, so much better again there.

Thanks BlueSwordM Thumbs Up

So if I understand what you are saying, the NW 4800K HaikeLite MT07S HI Upgrade Version 3000Lumens , is the longest thrower of the group. And will give the best color distinction on objects as well at 80CRI. I am still learning the basics. I will Google more…..

That’s the 35 from one source. The 70 does about ~70 kcd or so.

P.S. Oh shoot…I came too late…black is sold out. I hope stock will be replenished soon.
