Just wondering how difficult will it be to mod this with some Nichia 219B 9080 or E21A?

“I used to think that top environmental problems were biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse and climate change. I thought that thirty years of good science could address these problems. I was wrong. The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed and apathy, and to deal with these we need a cultural and spiritual transformation. And we scientists don’t know how to do that.”   (Gus Speth)

According to documentation, there are 84 LEDs inside this lantern, likely using various color temperatures, which is what allows you to select different color temp. Not sure how you could replace them all with a single Nichia LED and still maintain uniform light output in all directions.

Crap not good. Maybe a high CRI LED strip might work though.

I thought there are only leds with two colour temperatures, ~6500K (just a guess) and ~2500K. By changing the output ratio of the two type of leds you can get all colour temperatures in between. I haven’t read anything about this, but this is just how it is in my head.

Yes, that’s how it works, I believe. I should have written ‘two’ instead of ‘various’.

No.

Unprotected button tops fit just barely. The protected ones are too long.
