Hello From Wales Uk

Hi Everyone,
I have been a visitor to the BLF Forums for several months and so I finally decided to make an account of my own and join in the community.
I have been in this hobby for about 3 years now and I am totally addicted already. I love my EDC lights and keeping up to date with the latest LED and battery technology. There really is some great information to be found on here a lot of which helped inspire my purchases. I look forward to getting to know some more like-minded people.

Welcome to BLF DarkParagon! My family only tolerates my flashlight addiction so I’m glad I can rely on BLF.

I’d rather use my flashlight around the house than turn on the lights.

Welcome to BLF! We are both newcomers but you have lurked longer than I.

What is your favorite EDC flashlight and why?

Mine is the Thorfire TG06S because I am unsophisticated, cheap and like to carry a small flashlight in a belt pouch that doesn't poke me in the ribs when I sit down. I carry it mostly for suburban outdoor use so 500 lumens is adequate for me. I like that it has a tail switch, and stands on its tail for working under the sink.

I am on the list for the BLF/TLF FW3A so perhaps I will step up my game and make this my new EDC flashlight when it becomes available.

Thanks for introducing yourself, and cheers!

Hello ActiveAl,
And thanks for your warm welcome. I would have to say that my current favourite EDC Is my Convoy S2+ Clear in U6-3A tint. It’s very bright, well made and versatile thanks to the excellent biscotti firmware. I ordered mine directly from Simon’s Convoy Aliexpress shop. I came across a review on the S2+ clear written by another BLF member and then I just knew I had to own an S2+ for myself. I decided on the 7135 ×6 variant I find it’s a good balance of lumens and runtime so perfect for my EDC needs.

Welcome, even though you are Welsh (not your fault).

This is a very pleasant place to hang out.

Welcome to BLF, DarkParagon Beer

Convoy lights are good stuff. I have an S2+ very like yours, but Desert Tan and 7135×8. It’s one of my two belt EDCs, along with my BLF-348.

DarkParagon, would you mind providing a link to Simon’s Convoy Aliexpress shop - just for me to be sure. I would like to check it out. Thanks.

Yes, the Convoy S2+ is the standard from which all other tube flashlights are judged! I believe it was my first flashlight purchase as well. I opted for the 7135 x 8 with the middle-of-the road T6-3B (5000K) emitter from BangGood. I also got my BLF A6 from BangGood. But by this time, my real crass nature was coming out and I got it with a 1A (6500K) emitter. Brighter is better, right? But seriously, I envision the A6 as more of an outdoor flashlight where throw capability is more important to me than natural tint. BTW, the BLF is my first and only blog - which is astounding at my age. This may say something about its appeal.

Take care my friend, and welcome!
