It needs a 32mm space around the LED, and I don’t own one so idk.

That black piece that goes around the LED looks larger than 32mm but I can’t be 100% sure.

Thank you, Enderman, for making this happen.

I’m also curious about using one of here in the Jaxman Z1, or one of the UltraFire models 1504, 1405, or T20.

I ordered collar and lens and I forgot the code Facepalm

Shipping to Europe was 21 dollar, plus whatever the carrier and dutch customs will fancy charging me on top when the package arrives.

This better be a good mod

Not only the diameter must right, you must have 29mm diameter leftover at 42mm under the lens.

I may have a host that has that but it was an obscure one-time aliexpress buy, not listed anymore.

Me too. I have been waiting a few years for a small one.
Be prepared for finnicky focussing. 1.5x is probably easy. Above 2x requires high self motivation ;).
Shipping to Germany is 18$ for USPS and 30$ for DHL. 76$ total with USPS and PayPal.

Went ahead, took the chance, and got 3.

This will pair well with my aspheric GT, if I ever manage to open the bezel on one of mine.

Just FYI if you plan to buy the lens and collar isn’t it better to just buy their light and mod it? I suppose the 3xD cell battery setup is less than ideal.

Full light (assuming it has the same lens and collar): $117 shipped to US
Lens and Collar by themselves: $95 shipped and you have to find a host which fits a 50mm lens

Here’s a Jaxman Z1 Host, with many good pictures, maybe the collar fits: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/JAXMAN-Z1-Host-for-BLF/1812094_...

Yup that’s definitely an option, I’m pretty sure it is the same lens they use in their light.
The discount code also applies to everything in the flashlight section so you could get a discount on it as well.
I’m not sure how easy it is to remove the collar in order to replace the LED though, and also the host is kinda ugly IMO.
Would fit some 26650s nicely though.

Have anyone tried the Marinebeam Ultra Long Range LED flashlight I wonder how difficult it is to mod this to a Lithium Ion powered flashlight because it uses 3 D cells. Is there a review of this light anywhere?

On The Cometa the space over the pill is 32,2mm.
The black ring has its threads on a smaller diameter than the hole ring. The ring itself is 38,7mm. The black ring on the Cometa is as wide as the thread diameter. And this diameter should be the same and fit the collar.

Do they sell a flashlight with the collar on a regular basis? Are the lenses normally available or are they a special thing too?

I just bought 2 wavien collars and 1 aspheric lense. I applied the coupon and after the paypal step, it automatically removed the coupon discount!! That’s sneaky.

Placed my order after returning to the marinebeam website there was another place to put the code in again. It was still higher than it had been so I checked the cart and didn’t have to change anything but upon exiting the cart the price had retuned to the original and all was well.

The RLT flashlight is regularly available (without discount)
The lenses I’m not sure, and the collars definitely not.

That’s weird, it worked for me.
I applied the coupon, then did the paypal step, and the discount was still there.

I can get the discount but as soon as I press continue to go from billing address to billing info it goes away and the price goes back up. I give up.

I’m using Chrome. Maybe that’s the problem. I contacted them to see if they can give me back the discount but no response yet.

I tried with Chrome, Firefox and IE. Every single time I go to the next screen after my address it clears the coupon.

Nice work putting this together. If I were into throwers I’d probably get one, but I don’t even use the full capabilities of my D1S so I think any more throw would be lost on me.

I was kinda sad to see the lack of response over on CPF. I guess a lot of the modders have migrated or left. Doesn’t look like you’ll struggle getting to fifty though.

Do you mean the next box? Because for me everything was on the same screen and I just went from box to box for each step.
I didn’t check to see if the coupon got cleared though, I just put it in and did the rest of the steps and it shows the discount on my receipt.
Could it possibly be a bug where it actually is applied but you just can’t see it until the purchase is done? When you go to the paypal screen where you’re about to confirm payment, does it show the correct price there with the discount or not?

Yeah, or they log on rarely and won’t see the post in time.
Anyway, I have good news from my contact at Marinebeam:

“BTW, we have built several host flashlights at modest drive currents with the XHP35 than easily surpass 1,000,000 Cd. Should the group conceive or want to design a lamp around the RLT, a la the Lumitop BLT GT, etc., there isn’t any need to get some outlaw in China or Russia to build them. We are interested in leveraging existing supplier host designs. Provided the sales go thru a licensee (Marinebeam), no problem. This way folks don’t unnecessarily place themselves in the chain of liability should an infringement issue arise. I am happy to work with whomever.”

That is quite interesting – this might give us to the most compact thrower over 1M cd.

I ordered 3 collars and the code worked normally.

@Enderman

I bet they are willing to collaborate. We probably made them more profit in 1 day than the whole year of their own light.

They really should get a clue before calling the GT some Chinese/Russian “outlaw” light though..

Don’t think that’s what they’re implying. I think it’s in regard to pirating the Wavien collar design itself (an outlaw) foremost to begin with not any particular host they would stick it in – not implying that the GT for instance is an outlaw Chinese/Russian light in of itself.

They have no say on what host you put a Wavien collar into just as long as the collar itself is sold by the licensee, Marinebeam. So far but that now has changed it appears.

At least the way I see it else they wouldn’t be selling these 50 collars individually. On the other hand assuming these 50 stand alone collars were a one time deal only now they appear to be saying that in the future a BLF group type light can be leveraged through them directly and they’ll sell the host unit/design with their collar installed is another thing altogether. It’s implied that that’s what they did with the XHP35.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea IMO if Marinebeam further clarified what they exactly mean here in context to what they just did with this 50 collar sale. I’m assuming there will no longer be any more sales of individual collars so if you want a future BLF GT type light with a Wavien, it’ll apparently have to be sold through them using a supplied host (or just the host design itself perhaps more likely) but they build it and then sell the assembled waviened unit.
