They should do that for the X70-GT and newer 6-digit lumens lights. Big Smile

6 digit? Do you mean like 100,000 lumen? 8 batteries won’t support that output so it has to be 12+. They will probably be battery packs.

Speaking of baseball bats from a post further above, can three or more of these be connected to a Q8, staying with the 4.2V parallel configuration? That would be a beast of a light.

Edit: Just watched the video. OMG, yes!

Just discovered this wonderful addiction.

Maybe 3, but you know… I sure hope the carrier can move serious current…

(I may possibly need over 80A… no kidding!)

Hi!

I like two tubes and carriers so that I can use 8x 18650 in my Sofirn Q8.

One note: Say how many sets you want, not how many tubes you want please.

For example, if you want to run 8×18650, say 1 set.

If you want to run 16×18650(DC Custom :D), say 2 sets.

Is the above correct?
I thought 1 set was for 4 × 18650. A set being one tube and 1 carrier.

One set of extension tubes is meant to run 8×18650.

Otherwise, why would you be buying it only for 4 cells? Haha.

For someone who wants to run 4 cells at 6v or 12v.

Plus it just makes more sense. Some people might want to run 12 cells. Why should they be forced to buy 4 tubes when they only want 3?

Appearantly you can’t buy odd numbers of tubes. You have to buy 6 or 8.

Actually it’s 1+1, the first one is connected with the head, the second one is connected with the tail. If you wanna make it longer, it’s 1+2, 1+3….1+N

The first one never change, because you need it for longer extension.

I have read that you can not use the new sets together with the original battery tubes.
That means you need 2sets for 8 batteries.
And there will be 2 different tubes, for the BLF and for the Sofirn, which has different threads.

The original battery tube has to be set aside and not used anymore.

1 set = 2 battery tubes + 2 carriers

New vid on the Q8 extension tube:

As you can see, there are 2 different tubes for the BLF Q8 and Sofirn Q8. No inter compatibility because of a slight thread change on the Sofirn Q8 for slightly better waterproofing.

The Q8 looks huge now though…

I love it Big Smile

I must be missing something…near the end of the video, he takes off the BLF Q8 head sets it down, picks up and threads on the Sofirn Q8 head onto the same tube section that he just removed the BLF Q8 head from…. perhaps it does thread on but is not water tight so after this video was done they had to made a different set of threaded tubes for their Sofirn Q8 version? Is that correct?

I have both Q8 lights and you can put me down for +1 set but if truly different threads and have to specify which one I am not sure which I would pick right now, I know…the right answer is to get one set for each!!!

Must admit that I just found this thread, read from beginning and some good LOL posts in the last half helped me forge on to the end…so thanks to those that make this fun! You know who you are (BlueSwordM included)! Big Smile
