Nitecore P12gt yellow spot in center of hotspot XPL-Hi V3

So I just got this light in about an hour ago. First thing I noticed right off the bat from bouncing the light beam on the ceiling is this ugly yellow spot right dead in the middle of the Hotspot. I didn’t see any of this on any of the reviews I watched. Is this a known issue or does anyone know what might cause this? I expected it to be all white center.

I think it’s the led. I have several lights that have the same thing

So all XPL - Hi V3 LED’s have a yellow spot within the hotspot?

Happens with a lot of lights, when the LED+reflector is a little too perfectly focused, it seems. The hotspot will be slightly bluish with a yellowish dot in the middle, all relatively speaking.

A thin paper spacer between mcpcb and reflector can “detune” it ever so slightly.

I have a S2+ that had the same issue. Looks like a sunny side up egg. I replaced the reflector with a OP one and all was good. Hotspot wasn’t as defined but it made a much more pleasant beam and I actually like it better now. I imagine some DC-Fix may cure that as well but will probably make your hotspot less defined and more floody as well. I would experiment with spacing as LightBringer suggested first. If that is the only thing you don’t like about the light try some of those remedies. If not ship her on back and try something else. Nice looking light though. I would play with it some and see if you can get it to your liking.

The same thing happens with my Emisar D1, although it’s slight enough to only notice on whitewall which happens rarely so I haven’t done anything about it.
