When will the next batch be available? And will it come with the same emitter and same price?

The first batch of 300 were sold in 129 orders.. so a touch more than 2 per order. That was quick!

I’ll bookmark the page and have to check it daily now!

Thanks to all who made this happen!

when manufacturers listen to what we want, make what we want, we will buy. Simple concept.

Well Ali now claims they’ve shipped three lights priced either $7.01 or $7.02 — they’re really confused over there.
Maybe they managed to get money from a credit card or PayPal without my ever approving a payment.

There are other market segments that don’t post here- why else would Fenix have taken so long to produce neutral tints and other highly desired features?

That said this is one of the coolest things about the BLF specials. Manufacturers working with people who know about and want to buy a product essentially offload a chunk of R&D and market research costs and get a more successful product. I wonder how many BLF A6/Astrolux S1 flashlights have sold? It has seemed popular among all the other flashlights on Banggood for a long time, so it probably found an audience far beyond BLF and sold extremely well. On our side, we’ve had wide availability of an excellent light and originally it came at a very good price.

Seems like a win-win to me.

Just a question for clarification: did Sofirn ever explain why they named this flashlight C01?

Ofcourse one can guess:
- C for “cockroach”
- C for copy (of Fenix E01)
- C for “compact”
- C for (everyday) “carry”

Did I miss something somewhere?

Have no clue, but my vote goes to door #3.

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

“C01” just popped up in emails with Barry, and that was it. Never asked why.

What do you think of the C01 samples Stef?

Maybe C for Clone? I could be wrong, but when Sofirn took on this project, they pretty much called it an E01 clone.

I like to think it stands for Cyclops, because the tail design looks like a cyclops. Sick

The whole point of this project to me was the Yuji leds. If they change it to something else then I probably won’t be buying them. So the first 300 might be the chosen few who get these little Yuji gems?

Why do you think that? As mentioned several times in this thread, and is also on the top of the OP, 2000 pieces wil be made with Yuji leds, of which 1000 with 5600K Yuji led, and 1000 with 3200K Yuji led. A first batch of 300 was made for the 11-11 sale, the rest will follow.

I have no idea what the plans will be now that the 11-11 sale is done. One way or another people from the list will be able to buy their C01’s and I hope just as with the Sofirn Q8 that Amazon is an option too. I will ask the next time I have contact with Barry, or perhaps Barry could chime in here (all after the weekend probably).

Does anyone know of a good, not discontinued 5mm LED that we could suggest Sofirn to use after all of the Yujis are gone?

So are we just supposed to buy these on Ali or is there still an active list?

The list is/was merely to get an “interest list” to check how many lights people would be interested in!

The first batch was already sold and a new batch will come soon on Sofirn Official Store at AliExpress (black version).
Later, the coloured versions will also be on sale.

So, in a shorter answer, it is/will be bought on AliExpress, regardless of the list Thumbs Up

Those might actually be the LEDs Fenix uses in the E01. I don’t think they’re available in high CRI, though.

Those are bote high CRI, no the bluish tint of Fenix E01. There are a lot of kinds of Nichia leds, not only those that mount Fenix E01

Available for retail customer in Lumitronix, a german store. Also in other stores…

I can’t really find the CRI ratings on either of those links. Am I missing it somewhere?

I was checking my order confirmation email and realized that they charged 8% tax. This was my first order on ali with tax, I thought the tax was only for US online sales.

I noticed the same for my order. As long as it’s truly getting to the State, I’m (disappointed but) good.

ledrise

I have mounted some of this in AAA lights and te beam of light is smooth and regular, and the color rendering is excellent, as says Ledrise in its specifications.
