4-die emitter on a zoomie?

I've got a few zoomies with single-die emitters, and they look funky on throw. Takes some getting used to.

But this? If projecting a window frame is desirable, this is your baby! Thoughts?

As you say…pretty funky! I have a MC-E dive light and I held a 50mm aspheric in front of it and got the window shaped pattern. Not my cup of tea

I love the lumens rating on the light you linked to…1600 lumens!

Yeah! Chinese lumens! The bestest kind!

I wouldn't mind that shape out of a fully driven CBT-360, but the MC-E isn't buttering my bread.

I had seen it before, and I was tempted to see how it performs, but the price wasn't so tempting, it might be cheaper to check it buying a MC-E instead.

I do not know if it will throw further than an XM-L with the same lens as it has to be slightly defocussed to concentrate the four dies on a single point for its best throw.

I know someone here tested a 4-XR-e with four lenses, and it threw a really big distance, but it is not exactly the same.
