Emisar D4 on a Panasonic lower amp output vs Sony V6

Guys…

Maybe I’m missing something here. But my D4 seems to run better and cooler on a lower amp 10amp output battery like the Pansonic 18650 3500mh battery vs my Mighty V6 Sony battery with a 15ap output. Yes, I know a lower output will mean I might not reach the mighty levels of 3400 lumens( it might put me at 3000lm) but it also means I will have more time with the light without having to deal with extreme heat on higher levels longer vs the short time I have access to them on the higher amp batteries like the V6. Am I missing something here?

Unless I’m missing something about your observations, that’s a method some folks use to tame down a high output light when they don’t need 100,000 lumens blazing out the front and searing heat coming from the body. Put in a lower drain cell like a NCR18650B for general use, then pop in a 30Q or VTC6 to show off.

I use Sanyo GA (10A) for this reason as well, as I’m not too interested in max output. I also charge my cell to around 4.0V to reduce max output.

D4 xpl hi actually put out 4000 lumen @ turn on using sony high drain… i use low or medium mode to control the heat… turbo mode are for quick burst only.
