Just ordered a green 5000k xpl hi version. Wish we could do a group buy. I would buy a black one in a 4000k as well. Still may do that later.

Well, I’m certainly glad I didn’t give into my earlier impulse to pick up some flashlights…

I guess I should order an extra MCPCB too..,

I got my 33mm Quad boards with the optics yesterday. I put 4 of the new Samsung LH351D in 5000K tint at 80CRI on one of them and tested it outside of a light, connected directly to a cell via 18ga leads. On an LG HE4 it made some 4200 lumens, but on an iJoy 21700 it did 5500 lumens at 16.3A. This was the MCPCB with emitters and the optic, two leads coming off it.

Pretty nice beam profile, nice color. Will make a really good light. Big Smile

Edit: I found the color tint to be similar to that of an egg from the Salmon Faverolle chicken…

That’s a nice rosy tint on that Salmon Faverolle egg. Thumbs Up

Mallard eggs are a beautiful color, but not for a flashlight tint. Big Smile

Green 5000k xpl hi version w/both tails. Hope the green is closer to the drake’s head than his offspring. Sick

(I wish for a smooth green D1S to complete my set)

Do you guys think it’s better if I wait out for a while to buy the d4s? Kind of like the d4 originally shipped with the v1 and only later with the v2 software?

ME NEW, ME LIKE BIG LIGHT.

Stu, the development of the D4 was a new venture, so yes some improvements were made. This is a more seasoned venture and TK has tweaked the firmware for Hank yet more so I would bet it’d be safe to go with the D4S straightaway. If I hadn’t just spent a hundred bucks on other things I’d be all over this, you can bank on that!

Magnetic tail cap option from Mtn Electronics?

Reading this thread and saw the pre order available. Got excited and jumped over to Mtn Electronics and ordered one with XPL 5000K even though I shouldn’t spend that money now.

I forgot about the magnetic tail cap.

Went back and read through order options many times.

Where am I missing option to order magnetic tailcap?

Thanks

Is that going to be with the switch powered off that has the secondary lights on sub moon mode (Locator lights?)?

I also feel your pain about just buying lights. I managed to get this one in even thought I had just bought 3 Olight PL Mini Valkyries during the Olight sale.

Anyone know if Mtnelectronics would swap in some LH351D’s for an added fee? Really want to order one of these but would prefer it with those LEDs.

Is it safe, or rather unsafe, to say that this will get nuclear hot like the D4?

I don’t think so.

ios v1 was developed by Tom E. but he ran out of time because of his day job.
So Toykeeper was asked to finish v1 to the specs from Emisar.
Later she added stuff to it and that became v2.
V3 has a completely different code base and uses stuff from Andúril. It is hard find a feature that’s not in it.
I am shure Hank from Emisar choosed what he want his light.

But if you want more features you can flash Andúril on all Emisar lights.

I’m guessing this should run alot cooler than the D4 given that it is the same quad but far more mass for heat dissipation. I was actually hoping for a 7 emitter 26650. sigh.

I just ordered the XP-L HI 5D with magnet.

Nice. Which color did you order?? I personally think smooth gray looks awesome because I have one gray d4.
Smooth gray looks rich.
