Review : Convoy C8+ XP-L Hi 5000K from Gearbest

Greetings from Turkey,

I am one of the few winners of the GEARBEST 2018 Mid-Year Giveaway. You can see the thred from this link Gearbest 2018 Mid-Year Giveaway. I got my giveaway giftbox today. Because of my addiction to throwy flashlights, I choose C8+. Thank you Gearbest for the fast shipment and GAW.

Cargo came with a bubble bag. And the C8+ has a rather thin cardbox. But C8+ had survived that long voyage without any scratch.

Here are some photos:

After opening that ugly box, the flashlight is top notch. I can not say enough for its colour and the finish:

The C8+ has a very lovely brown tint. I can say this tint is very close to the Cerakote Burnt Bronze but with a tad matte finish. Not only the matte finish but also the way they machined this flashlight makes the grip quite grippy. Knurling on the handle is more coarse comparing to my beloved old C8. I use Sanyo 18650’s for all my flashlights and there is a little rattle in the handle tube. The fit is not that tight. For me this is not a big disadvantage because I carry my flashlights in my bag most of the time.

The reflector is perfectly centered and hasn’t got any flaws or defects on it. The lens has an AR coating. Beautiful LOL

To compare C8+ to my old C8, the anodizing texture on the surface is very different. The C8+ has a coarse, matte, grippy, surface almost not comfortable for bare hand. But you get use to that feeling almost instantly. The old C8 has smooth, shiny (almost like mirror), polished finish. Big disadvantage of C8 is so slippery. And knurling do not help at all.

For the weight wise they are identical:

I like this thrower a lot. Thanks BLF family and Gearbest for this flashlight.

Thanks for the review.  That knurling does look quite grippy.  Looks like a winner of a light.

Knurling is really a great upgrade over old C8. It’s indeed a winner Thumbs Up

I’d love one. but have 3 x C8’s now. (Ultrafire. Convoy. and Sofurn C8T now.
I’d love to get one and install a 70.2 chip with Simons new driver.

Missus would chop them off for me if I fronted another one.
