Looking for a member with an endmill, that is true...

I have a bullet mould block that is aluminum that I need about .136” taken off the top. I need a flat, fairly smooth surface left for the sprue plate to ride… Anyone out there? The local shops want 4 to 5 hours and setup fees to work on a 22 dollar mould block…

Matt

How big is the block ?

Pic ?

I want the bottom driving band and lube groove milled off.

Another view when done, exposes handle pin holes:

why not just hand lap it on a lapping plate ?

( a piece of 1/4” thick glass with wet sandpaper should work well)

May end up going that route… the top cannot be polished smooth, the machine marks provide venting when pouring into the mould. I also cannot remove the handles until the pins are exposed on the top and bottom. Quite a bit to remove and maintain true without some kind of guide, or at least I think it would be.

So you just want to make shorter bullets ?

Should be dead easy on a mill.

Will study it more tomorrow.
Bed time on my planet.

If nobody else steps up, send me a private message here.

That is exactly what I want to do… this was designed for the 32 H&R Magnum and maybe the S&W Long but is to heavy for the 32ACP. When shortened the ogive is perfect for a semi-auto and the weight falls right about 75 grains.

Will wait a few more days to see if there are any takers in the states.
