Thanks for setting up the poll!

Should simply “BLF Lantern” not be included in this poll, since several people liked that, including me?

Still think we should see if the guy who made the BLF – LT logo could make revisions. That was by far the best one, imo.

Honestly, I didn’t like any of the choices given here, so I chose the least bad one to vote for. Whatever it is, I will prolly still buy it, if I have any money to spend by the time it comes out.

Yeah, thanks for finding it. I was thinking of joechina’s more refined follow-up: http://budgetlightforum.com/comment/1340933#comment-1340933

Changing the style of it a bit to not match the GT’s so closely, but keep the minimalist design is what I’d vote for. But yeah, like above, at the end of the day I’d still buy it. haha

This poll has … 58 choices? Is that right?

I don’t think I would even attempt a poll like this in a “vote for one” system. The math just doesn’t work out. But this sort of poll is perfect for approval voting (vote for one or more).

With almost 1000 requests on the interest list, I’m hoping we get a LOT more votes in this poll. Perhaps the tables will turn once more votes come in. Wink

I’d really love to have at least three choices in this poll (First, Second, Third choice). I agree this is too much for a “vote for one” poll.

FWIW
I know yall never listen to me and I thought about not posting at all but I just cant help it.
The way I see it is this was DBSAR’s baby and although someone can and should appreciate suggestions when naming a “child” It is still the parent that has the final word. Jeeez, look at all the suggestions…… Surely DBSAR has a favorite?
I think he ought to have the honor of choosing a name for it.
Okay……. I said it.

I wouldn’t mind if he chose the name. I get the feeling he doesn’t want to though. But if he did, I’d be all for it.

I do understand your thoughts on that.
I never really looked into the name and what would be good for it. I did like the BLF-LT with the logo one & Lantern symbol and border similar to the GT, but because the GT was built by Lumintop Barry mentioned it was awkward for the factory to use that logo because of its similarity to the one on a light built by a different factory. Neal contacted me recently asking about if we had a factory & engineers working on the lantern, project, as he expressed interest in this new project and having Lumintop’s factory take on the project, but we had already handed the project production to Barry and the factory that build Sofirn’s lights. (with Thorfire)
As for other alternate names for the lantern, I thought of others like: BLF-Lantern with the lantern logo either before or after the name string, but i still agree with some that “ BLF Lantern is very generic, and needs some kind of model designation. I also liked the one another suggested: “BLF-SARlantern” , or “BLF-ULT” as another name, ( ULT meaning UltimateLantern.)

so in reality the top favorite names i like in row of fave to last (excluding BLF-LT) is:

- BLF SARlantern
- BLF-ULT
- BLF-Lantern (logo)
-?
-?
-?

How about “George”, so it’ll be less confusing to all my other lights?
