LIGHT SUGGESTIONS???

First post, hope I don´t mess this up.

I am looking for a sugestion and think this is the place to get it. I´ve had a Thrunite TN12 for several years as my EDC, and just this week my 4 year old daughter said, and I quote ¨daddy, I hid your light so that you wouldn´t loose it¨. Problem with that plan is that now she doesn´t remember where she put it. I´m going nuts looking for it so I decided I´m gonna get a new light. I also have a Thrunite Neutron 2C which I hate for EDC. I´ve been looking at options and none fit all the criteria I am looking for, so I´d appreciate suggestions, here´s what I am looking for:

- Something smaller than 5¨ in length

- A least 1200 LM (I could live with 1000 LM)

- Tail Switch, with memory of last used intensity

- Tail switch with momentary ON

- Deep carry clip (reversible is a plus, but not a must)

- Runs on 18650, which is why I posted here.

  • Hopefully the tail switch is flush with the body, so that the light can stand on it´s own.

From what I´ve looked at the closest to all of that is the Astrolux S1, which seems it´s just missing the momentary ON feature,… I´d be lying if I didn´t say I´ve also looked at other brand names, the Fenix PD35 clip rides too low, the Klarus G10 doesn´t have momentary on and only has memory on the side switch, the Olight M2R doesn´t have memory on the tail switch, just goes full on or strobe, and so on and so on. I still am more inclined to the Astrolux over those but not sure if there is like a unicorn out there that has everything I look for.

Thanks!

The only light that I know of that hits all of those requirements is the Armytek Partner C2 Pro.

Thanks… and even that one doesn´t seem to even have a pocket clip. I think I am being a bit too picky

Zanflare F1 ($21 with coupon code).
Fitorch P20R
Both have on-board charging. The Zanflare is slightly brighter.
I own all both and very much like them.
One more: No tail switch, just an electronic side one but the UI is very nice…the Nitecore EDC23 smokes just about any EDC light @ 1800 lumens. It is a great light!!
Are you in the U.S.?

I had looked at the EDC23 too as an option. Do you have one? if so, can you tell me if the side switch can be found easily? because what I hate about the Neutron 2C is that the side button is flush with the body, I got used to the tail switch on the TN12 so when I pull the 2C from my pocket I start fumbling around looking for the switch, I sometimes even have to look at the freaking thing, which, if I need the light, it means there´s low light already, kinda defeats the purpose.

I am not in the U.S. but I do shop online within the US, so if it´s a store that does online shoping and US delivery, I can buy there no problem.

Yes the side switch is easily found and operated on the Nitecore. With a coupon the EDC23 runs about $65. I have one for personal use and a couple for sale but do not ship outside the US (cost).
I have the TN11 SV2 and TN12. There are good lights but the Nitecore is far superior. Even the Zanflare F1 is brighter than those two.
Also, you really ought to consider the Emissar D series from MTNelectronics. for $40 plus a few $$ shipping, the Emissar outperforms just about everything comparable for a great bargain.

Sofirn SP31?

Klarus XT2C checks all those boxes I believe.

I had looked at this one too… my only concern was that double tail switch. I wonder how ¨easy¨ it´s to mess up and press the wrong one with the thumb, which is the finger that usually operates that switch. But it is in my top 5 options.

It’s pretty easy, even with the metallic cover of the secondary switch removed. That’s the main reason that my XT2CR is at home now and I carry a Thorfire TK18. Other than that, it’s a great light.

I think Eagle Eye X5R cover the specs.
For sure it has momentary on rear switch. Also can stand in candle position.

Nitefox UT20 seems to fit the bill.

Rear tail FC switch, so has momentary on. Tailstands fine, albeit a bit unsteadily. Built-in usb charging if you want. Sideswitch with battery-status indicator (priceless!) to select modes.

Best of all, the clip is not deep-carry but for a little over a buk you can get a beautiful DC clip from FT that fits the narrower notch on the light perfectly. Most lights have a thick ‘C’ ring that snaps around the light, but the UT20 has a narrower clip and notch that fits that clip beautifully, and the matte black finish of the clip perfectly matches the light, too. As much as I like other lights like the SP32A.2, this one’s been my EDC since I got it.

I just got 10 of these for a lifetime supply of DC clips.

Lookit the clip (after getting rid of the tac-ring).

Rides nice’n’low in my pocket. No baseball-bat sticking outta my pocket.

Blinkies are very well hidden. Gotta go into “tactical mode” to do that (press’n’hold the sideswitch 5sec or so), and regular EDC mode is nigh perfect. Simple low→high modes, no chance of accidentally changing modes by too quick / too fast / too whatever bapping the rear switch. It just works.
