UTorch SF01 price drop to $6.99

GearBest asked me to share a promotion they're running, the Utorch SF01 is on sale for $9.99 $6.99 with the code GBUtorchSF01 GBQCSF01N. This light claims to be compatible with CR123, AA, and AAA batteries, which would make it a great backup light.

A user has commented saying this light may in fact only work with CR123. If you have one, please confirm.

I wish they had prices like that on the newer S2+ lights with the updated driver, emitter, and body color.

The prices aren't as good, but there are some deals on the updated S2+ lights as well.

  • The S2+ with XP-L Hi and Biscotti is available in silver with a cool white emitter for as low as $14.96, whereas Convoy's official store sells these lights starting at $18.95. The page has this light listed as the S2, but I don't think that's correct based on the images. Other tints and colors will cost more, but they're available. I think only the silver body color is cheaper than the official store.
  • The new colors are available here starting at $15.99. This is a bit less than the Convoy store, but again these lights use the older emitter and driver. If you want to avoid the tint shift, it's probably best to get it from there.

I'll keep an eye out for better deals on these lights in the future.

GearBest Deals of the Week 27 July 2018

Gearbest asked me to share some promotions with you. I went through their available sales, and hand picked a small selection of deals that were good enough I considered buying them. Most of these are lights that are fairly popular on this site.

  • The Nitecore TIP CRI is as low as $15.99 for some colors. All colors are available, but not all are this cheap.

  • The JetBeam TH20 is discounted by 41% down to $65.99. This is a large, high output light that was reviewed by zeroair.

  • You can pick up a Convoy S2+ for $9.99. This is the older version with 3/5 mode groups and an XM-L2.

  • The new Convoy C8+ is available for $19.99 in desert tan with a cool white tint, which is $4 less than through the Convoy store. Other tints are available, but at a slightly higher cost. This light uses the newer Biscotti firmware.

  • The Convoy S2+ UV with the Nichia UV emitter is discounted to $20.99.

  • The popular Skilhunt H03 can be grabbed in neutral white for $29.99.

  • The Nitecore P36 is an older light, but it uses the still well-regarded MT-G2 emitter and has an output mode dial. It's 25% off at a price of $69.99. Here's a review by civilgearreviews.

Hopefully these deals are useful to the community - if there's enough interest, I'll update these in the future. If you'd like a deal on any product not listed, let me know and I'll see what I can find.

GearBest New Deals and Products for the week 31 July 2018

Back with some more deals on some of the subreddit's favorite lights. As before, all of these are affiliate links. If you want a product that's not on the list, message me and I'll hunt for a deal.

Deals

  • New Convoy S2+ is down to $17.72 in turquoiseorange, and purple. This is less than the Convoy store, but with the old driver and different LED.
  • The BLF 348 is on sale for $5.99. A user told me this might use the C emitter instead of the B, so I ordered one to check and will let you know. Sale will be over before I can confirm, though.
  • From last week, the Skilhunt H03 is still at $29.99. This shows as ending soon, but has been extended before.
  • The Nitecore Tube in blue is down to $5.99 and the Tube UV is at $9.99.
  • The Convoy L6 is down to $59.99 in neutral white

News

  • The Nitecore Concept 2 is already for sale at less than direct cost from nitecore. $175.64
  • Copper versions of the Nitecore Tini for $32.00 and Nitecore TIP for $21.88 are now up.
  • Xtar has a new 4 port USB hub that is handy to provide power to chargers and phones at the same time at $15.55

Hope these are helpful!

Some minimum will be about 55mm head, the bigger the better. I had an L2 and L6 there are old lights.

Hi Everyone! Below are some hot deals on GearBest that are going on.

A user contacted me and told me the 348 I had on my last post was not using the claimed LED. Still waiting on mine but for now assume that light has the 219C.

Have a good weekend and ask if you are looking for deals on any other lights or recommendations and I will do my best to help. As always, these links are affiliate links.

A few new products showed up. No huge deals, but all worth a look. Most of these include batteries and built in charging, which is good for new users.

  • On The Road M3 Pro at $34.57, an Olight clone with USB-C charging and an included 16340 battery.

  • Wuben TO40R at $49.99 with included cell and built in charging.

  • Wuben TO46R at $52.99, a triple with included cell and built in charging.

  • Wuben L50 at $35.65 with included cell and built in charging.

  • Wuben A21 at $149, a ramping light with included 21700 cell, built in charging, and an XHP70.

  • Wuben E01 at $13.99, small AAA light. Not the best emitter used.

  • Flashlight watch at $9.99. I don't actually suggest anyone buy this, but it was ridiculous enough to share with the community. Comes with compass, charging, and 4 light modes. Unspecified brand and LED. Again, do not actually recommend doing anything other than looking at this.

Hi Everyone! Here's your weekly update on the hottest deals on GearBest, as well as some new products that might be interesting.

Deals

  • The Skilhunt H03 is discounted 21%, bringing it to $31.99.

  • The Nitecore HC60 Neutral White is discounted 21%, bringing it to $49.99. For an extra $9 over the Skilhunt, this has more throw, an included cell, and a standard USB charging connection.

  • The Convoy S2+ UV is discounted 17%, bringing it to $23.99. Great for scorpion hunting, rocks, and curing UV glue. Did you know that UV reactivity is used in gemology to grade stones?

  • The Skilhunt H03 RC is discounted 25%, bringing it to $40.99. Last week these deals ran out quickly, this headlamp is quite popular.

  • The Nitecore TIP CRI is discounted 37%, bringing it to $15.99. So far, high CRI keychain lights are a favorite among those reading my posts.

  • The Convoy C8+ is discounted 17%, bringing it to $19.99.

  • The BLF 348 is discounted 35%, bringing it to $5.99. I have confirmed this uses the 219C, not the 219B.

New Releases

  • The Folomov B5M 26650 flashlight/powerbank for $79.00. Complete kit with cell included. If you are in the US, this light is around this price on Amazon as well and they may ship faster.

  • The Folomov B4M 18650 flashlight/poewrbank for $52.00. Complete kit with cell included.

  • The Folomov A1 launched with a 45% discount, bringing it to $5.99. This is one of the smallest and most versatile powerbank/chargers, although HKJ noted the termination voltage when charging is a bit low. Great to toss in a bag.

  • The On The Road M3 Pro 16340 light with usb-C charging for $24.79. There are also versions that include cells.

As always, feel free to ask if you're looking for recommendations or for deals that are not on this list. In addition to finding deals, I can always reach out to my contacts at GearBest to see if they can make you a coupon on certain items. If you find anyone getting in to the hobby and looking for a place to start, feel free to send them my way as well.

This week’s update will be my last post of the month, so I decided to do something a bit different. The links in this post will still be affiliate links from GearBest. What’s changed is the format.

I’m betting most of you following these posts have picked up some of the recurring deals. GearBest often has some high CRI keychain lights and a few good headlamps that are always good deals. Most of you have bought a BLF-348, a TIP CRI, and a Skilhunt H03 (or the RC variant). So for this week, I’m going to post some lights you can use to find something unique and round out the selection.

Lights made from other metals

Aluminum is popular because it’s strong, light, and a good conductor. For those of you that don’t think it’s stylish, or that are too hipster to have the same material as everyone else, here are some options.

Power Banks

If you’re going to carry around a high powered battery, you might as well carry one that can charge your phone and light up a room.

  • Folomov A1 is the smallest, cheapest way to add this to an existing battery. No light though.

  • Nitecore F1, a popular and versatile lightweight single battery option

  • XTAR PB2 will take two 18650 batteries and turn them into a portable power bank with charge level readout

  • Nitecore F2 takes two F1s and smacks them into one unit

  • Folomov B4M adds micro USB output to a 1200 lumen 18650 light

  • Folomov B5M is a 26650 light with micro USB out

  • Rofis MR50 uses a new 21700 cell and has micro USB out, for more capacity than an 18650 while being slimmer than a 26650. The included battery is the same capacity as the one with the B5M.

  • Rofis MR70 again uses a 26650, with two separate LEDs for flood and throw

Lights that aren’t tubes

Sometimes you want different shapes in your collection. Aside from the keychain lights mentioned above, these are worth a look. And they won’t roll away on you.

Lanterns

Great for power outages and camping.

  • Nitecore LR10 has a built in battery and is high CRI

  • Nitecore LA30 has a built in batter and can use two AAs, and is high CRI

  • Zanflare T1 is not high CRI or in stock sadly, but is a great price and has cool white, warm white, and red modes so keep checking

  • Nitecore LA10 CRI is a pocketable AA lantern

Lights that transform

Most lights stay the same shape they were when you bought them. If that sounds boring, look no further than these options.

  • Nitecore Thumb is a keychain light with a tilting head

  • Nitecore LR12 has an internal diffuser than slides out for lantern use

  • Rofis R2 is an AA light with a rotating head so it can be used as a headlamp or an angled work light

  • Nitecore MT21C is an 18650 light with a tilting head and a magnetic base for work

USB-C charging

If you want your light to use the next big thing in charging standards, here it is

That’s all for now! Hopefully you can find something that’s nothing like what you already have somewhere in this list. Comment below with the unique lights that didn’t make it on to this list. Maybe I can find something to round out my collection as well!

GearBest asked me to share a promotion they’re running, the Utorch SF01 is on sale for $9.99 with the code GBUtorchSF01. This light claims to be compatible with CR123, AA, and AAA batteries, which would make it a great backup light.

I believe it's CR123 only.

It would be extremely strange if it worked with CR123, AA, and AAA batteries.

On the page of the flashlight, itself, there is a video that seems to confirm that it is only for CR123 cells. At least judging by the space left:

Funny thing is: is this a “1 mode at a time” flashlight, or it can also be a “3 mode” flashlight?
The UI operation is not completely clear Flat Stare

Not enough details to know about the UI or internals but as far as being able to use cr123a, AA and AAA batteries, the SF01 would appear to be a copy of the Streamlight Protact 1L-1AA, which does take cr123a and AA (and possibly AAA although with a little wiggle.)

Move towards the light.

Looks promising. If anyone buys this light, let me know what cells it works with and I will update.

The springs seem to be “big” to be shrunk, so maybe it can take all of the 3 types!
I assume that it would only be good for AAs or AAAs (in my case) as CR123s are expensive and it doesn’t seem to be compatible with Li-Ion’s Oops
