Kaidomain KDIY K6 multiple problems

I order and paid over 50$ but lights is defective and KD support don’t responding already 6 days on message.

What do to here, no where on the web site was write that lights need 30A+ cell for work, that the thing is even more funny I measured only 1500 lumens on this lamp and it takes a lot more than 10A which my DMM can read, probably about 15A since it is flashing with 20A 26650 cell.
Fuly charged LK 26650 from 4.20V to 4.10V in only 2 minutes of work with this flashing all the time so it don’t have full 2 min of work, this is insane power consumption and don’t know what to do here ?

Sorry for any inconvenience cause to you.

The flashlight is also testing by Samsung 30Q, KB3500mAh (NCR18650GA with PCB 10A) and 26650 3.7V 4500MAH before we ship out.

If you get problem only on the high mode, it may have chance for the battery problem.
We are not offering the battery that you mention above. Hope you can understand with our difficulties.

I can re-send once more driver for you to replace the flashlight.

If you need, i can use a DC power supply to let you see the power consumption on the high mode.

Is my light faulty or all other lights behave the same ? If my lights is faulty we will solve this easily, just send me a correct driver to replace this faulty.
Do you have this kind of problems in other lamps, what cells are you using ( I need A readings )…

I have many cells it is not possible that all of it have problems since all of them are working normal in other lights, so problem is in flaslight, do not get me wrong I don’t want to waste time and replace driver if it will behave same, I need correctly working light.

Yes please give me tailcap measurements from one of lights, it is not normal that light who is delivering 1500 lumens swallow much more over 10A… I have lights with XHP35 HI 1200-1300 lumens driven with 4-4.5A so something is not right in this light, lets find out what ?

I have to mention that flashlight cell tube is too short, it need to be longer but I think that you see that by yourself.

This flashlight is sold out for the first batch.

We only get a little after sales support for the light. The only difference is that we had shipped out with 26650 battery together.

And, K6 is using H2-C boost driver. This driver board requires high drain battery.

I think you can make a try on replacing the driver.

One more thing, we get sometimes is caused by the tail switch. Can you bypass the tail switch and make a try?
Otherwise, i can send once more switch for you.

We are spinning in a circle, you do not follow me well, I’m using HD cells 30Q which is 15A and LK 26650-50A, which can pull over 20A continues.

I can’t open link for cell 26650 3.7V 4500MAH it says PAGE NOT FOUND!, don’t know how much amps can deliver this cell.
But it is not important if I understand you well you test this lights THAT YOU SEND TO ME with NCR18650GA with PCB and Samsung 30Q and it works well ?? If yes how it is possible that is not work well with same 30Q cells that I have ?

I found this H2-C driver on KD site and it writes : ‘’2. The max current from battery can be up to max. 7A, high drain battery is recommended for this driver.’’

If you look what I wrote I told you that my DMM is limited to 10A amps measurements, and that I try to measure tailcap curent on this light and I’m getting more than 10A ! Since my DMM can’t read more I can’t be sure how much it is, maybe it is 15A I don’t know, but for sure it is more than 10A ! I can record you a video of this if you don’t understand since I wrote this second time.

From point like I see this, if it is correct that max power consumption of H2-C is 7A, and my light is takes a lot more, that is main problem, something is faulty and driver is spend much more amps than it should.

I just found on my job place a low budget Chinese DMM which is ‘’capable’’ reading 20A, so I will bring battery and light tomorrow and try to measure amps reading on tailcap and hope this DMM can read more than mines.

Here you go with my DMM which can read up to 10A max, so I can’t determine the exact consumption, but it is higher than 10A.
Tomorrow I will try with that Chinese DMM which is rated to 20A, but it is very very cheap and I don’t know how much it can truly read… Problem is in driver probably since I get high readings on tail cap measurements with DMM, so I doubt that tail switch is causing some problems, but it is not excluded.

Another strange thing is with 10A+ current consumption only 1500 lumens I measure on this light.

And here you can see from the top to the bottom protected 26650, unprotected 26650, 30Q with spacer. So cell tube is really short it need to be longer, or to solder shorter and stronger springs, this one in lamp is about 11mm, so solder some from 5mm to get 6mm free space…

This Chinese DMM ‘’rated at 20A’’ which I mention and try to measure tailcap readins on it, belived or not it can register max about 3A :person_facepalming:
The wires are much thinner than on my DMM, and I can’t put in it my DIY made very thick and short wires specially made for high currents because holes ( entrance ) is much smaller than on standard branded DMM.

So don’t know what to do now, if someone can confirm that buy this light that works ok, if not I’m not interested in keeping this faulty working light.
