Thanks for the info. Good information. Will this light go into TURBO when using a AA NiMh battery??

I’m not seeing any difference between this V2 and the original/existing SP10A. Looks like the same specs and functionality. What exactly has been changed?

One thing is specs “on the paper”, another thing are real lumens.
I dont know about SP10A, but on SP10B the lowest level was way too low, much lower than claimed 1 lm (in fact it was lower than the lowest level on my Zebralight SC62W, which is 0,01 lm!). Then, second highest level should be (according Sofirn) 20 lm, but i measured 35 lm. So there is big jump from lowest to second lowest level and some people complained about it.
So as I understand the SP10A v2 specs, Sofirn adds another level on the lower side of the output.
Second change, Sofirn lowers the Turbo, but looks like it should work now without 3min step down.

Thanks.
I guess I was too lazy to look up the actual specs of the original. I also could have just reached across the table and grabbed my SP10A V1 and counted the mode groups Facepalm

Okay I see now, thanks. Any idea why output in turbo went from 573 lumen’s down to 550. Most of the time output goes up on a newer model not down.

Is it normal to have higher runtimes on Li-Ion batteries than Ni-MH?

Yes, it has a stepdown after 3 minutes in Turbo mode.
Considering the stable in circuit and lifetime of LED emitter, the lumen max was adjusted to 550lm.

I picked this light up when it first released. Still waiting for arrival. Normally do not pick up small lights but like Sofirn to take a chance.

You will like it . I have one from 6mo. ago and it is my work light. Small enough to carry unnoticed and bright enough for close to medium distances. I put a protective ring around the switch so it never activates in the pocket and helps index the button .

Sorry but I don’t have what it takes to post pictures . I can tell you what I did though. Simply glued a stainless steel washer over the button. Harbor Freight has assortment packs of stainless and brass washer that seem to match up in size well.I could email a picture if you want.

I’m afraid that you don’t want to post the result as it’s not aesthetically pleasing. I’m I correct?

I see that the V 2.0 has a SMO reflector… That’s a drawback for me.

My v2 does not have an SMO reflector, it’s the same OP as the earlier versions.

I’m not very happy with the v2. I bought one because another one of my UT01’s stopped working with 14500s. I was looking forward to the improved mode spacing.

I didn’t realize that they’d gotten rid of the option to turn on to moon that the last generation had. Now it just comes up in whatever the last normal mode it was in before it was turned off. Oh, but only when using 14500s. If I’m reading the instructions right, it doesn’t have mode memory when used with AA cells.

Be forewarned. They gave a mode and took away a useful UI affordance.

That’s good to know. However, on their store on AE it’s figured with SMO reflector…

That’s… nasty. Sad

Thank you for the warning.

I had all versions, V2 is hopeless, I do not recommend it..

- Starts with Low, WTF?
- The mode memory sometimes does not work at 14500
- One 14500 was discharged to 2.2V

Interesting. The blue v2 is pictured with a SMO reflector, but the description says it has an OP reflector. The black is pictured with an OP reflector.
