Intl-outdoor website a little broken?

Is it just me? or is Hank's website a little broken?

https://intl-outdoor.com/

No, it’s not just you; I’m getting a white background page on startup, which differs from the rest of the site. Also, on his batteries / chargers page, I am getting a “Sorry, the product was not found.” message when I click through for more details from the front page where batteries / chargers are shown.

I had similar issues, but it all works fine when I visit http://intl-outdoor.com/ instead.

No problem with my browser

When I use the link in this post the site looks correct, the first posted link looks different than usual (with the white background)

Yep, same issue here

That would mean their certificate is messing up something else or is incorrectly configured, at least when typing in the website like in the OP.

But I haven’t ordered anything from intl-o in a while, I should really change that.

The stylesheets have absolute http:// URLs and I suspect chrome is refusing to load them into a secure https page. Easy enough to fix.

When loaded over HTTPS, the URLs for the page resources (images, javascripts, cascading style sheets) are http (unencrypted). My browser’s (Safari) default security policies allows it to load images insecurely, but blocks css and javascript.

If one’s browsers loads the current version of the site over https without issue, then its past time to upgrade or switch to another browser.

Hank should also fix the issue though: If someone tries to access any page on the site over http, their browser should get an automatic redirect to the https version of the URL. When served over https, the base URL for all page resources should use HTTPS.

I think Google’s pushing of HTTPS everywhere is self-serving and not necessarily good for web users and “publishers,” but ecommerce sites should use it, and any site that uses it should do it right.
