New Zanflare C4, one slot not working; solution? alternatives?

Hello,

just bought a Zanflare C4, on the strength of HJK's review, as an affordable analyzer charger for my LSD batteries.

One of the slots is reporting an incorrect voltage, like 2.5 or 3.5 V. After a while, the slot will reset and go back to Charge, no matter the mode, stuck in a loop.

  • I tried different batteries in the same slot, same thing.
  • Any given battery will work in the other slots, but not that one.

Fairly sure the charger is defective, but thought I'd make sure there's nothing else left I could try, before sending the unit back.

If the charger's bad, what I should be looking at as an alternative?

I picked the C4 over the LiitoKala Lii-500 because it seemed better for NiMH, and I like having the status for all the batteries displayed at the same time.

Welcome to BLF! Can’t help on your C4 issue, very happy with my Lii-500

Thank you!

After leaving the unit powered off for a few hours, the problematic slot appears to be doing Fast Test correctly now. Leaving it unplugged for a minute or so didn't do the trick.

Have no clue ATM what may have caused the malfunction in the first place.

I have a bunch of LSD battery sets that can use conditioning, so I'll be keeping an eye on it.

Hi finch. I am expecting my order of Zanflare C4 to arrive anytime this month or early October. Like you, I decided to purchase this because of the HJK”s generous sharing of his tests and reviews. Next to the Lii-500. I intend to make this as my analyzer for my Lithium and Ni-Mh batteries.

Since this will be my first encounter with battery analyzer, I hope I will receive a unit that will work as intended.

I wonder how your C4 is doing now?

Thank you. God bless you

It's been working fine so far, perhaps the problem was due to shipping, sometimes the courier's trucks are left under scorching sun and the stuff in the back can get very hot. Though the unit did not feel warm to the touch, resting for a few hours fixed the issue.

That said, after the initial spree, it hasn't see a ton of use: I bought this charger for the AA cells in a light I used to use which, unfortunately, broke shortly afterwards.
