Recommendations for ultimate Li-Ion charger

Dear all,

In terms of wishful thinking I'm looking for a very versatile charger with following specs:

  • 2 charging bays (4 bays would also be okay)
  • bays must fit from 10440 to 21700 (protected)
  • USB input for power is mandatory (no charging by mains adapter / external power adapter)
  • minimum charging current not higher than 100mA
  • capable of charging LiFePO4 (3.6V)
  • discharge functionality would be a benefit but not mandatory

Any recommendations? What I found so far either charges with more than 100mA or works with a 220V mains adapter only.

You can start here, although I am not sure if this charger ticks all the boxes for you.

Hi Lux-Perpetua,

I don’t think you will find a charger that has USB input for power and that also has most of the other specs you want. Usually only see USB powered chargers with one bay.

There are the Miboxer chargers that appear to fit most of the rest of your requirements.

2x Bays: Miboxer C2-4000 looks to fit all requirements except of course the USB powered charging.

4x Bays: Miboxer C4-12 Same but doesn’t have the Discharge function as well as the USB powered charging.

If you are dead set on not using Mains power they do run on 12 volt DC, like most of these chargers, so you can get &/or make up cables to power the charger by battery, Car Battery or other.

Thanks Paul321. Unfortunately, the SC4 requires 9-12V DC or 220V AC input, so no USB input capability. Moreover the minimum charge rate is 300mA which is too high for me when charging 10440s.

Thank you neBstress. I was already expecting difficulties to find a charger with all these specs. The MiBoxer C2-4000 seems nearly perfect but as you said, it comes without USB input capability. I already have the C4-12 and the MC3000. Both of them are fine but I was looking for something smaller and more versatile in terms of power input. I'm wondering if SkyRC could launch a smaller MC3000 with ony one or two bays but including all these nice features.

How about the Opus BT-C100?

- USB-powered (and USB output too) ; can also use 12v input

- charges LiFePO4

  • has discharge capability

although it doesn’t exactly meet your requirements:

- it’s only 1-bay though

  • minimum charging current is 200mA (not 100mA which you requested)

Would be nice if Opus could make a 2-slot charger (that can be USB-powered) with similar functionality as the BT-C100…
