Does anyone own this light? Is this a good deal on this light?

That's a great price on what is basically a lithium-ion version of the TK40.

I owned it some time ago. Great UI and great build quality. But not overly bright (I'd estimate 550 ANSI lumens) and the throw is also not impressive (approx 20K lux/1m). If you want "wow" factor, this is not a light for you. If you want well made, reliable flashlight, with great UI, efficient constant current circuit, go for it.

So basically I am going to have to do an XML conversion on it or I won't be happy. Thanks for the heads up I was getting an itchy trigger finger now I am not sure if want to spend $70 bucks on a light I'll have to mod.

I don't think so. I'm a big fan of the beam profile of the TK40.

Of course swapping it out for a top binned MC-E may net you 200 lumen over what's in there....

You can't mod it with XM-L. At least not easily. The MC-E in TK30 is wired in series, hence the voltage to the LED is 14.8V. This flashlight has step-up circuit and XM-L would fry itself or fry the circuit.

Want XM-L ? There's Jetbeam BC40 at DD, which after coupon is slightly over 40$ shipped. I know it's butt-ugly, but it's much brighter and throw father than TK30.
