Biscotti Driver Issues. Need some help

I bought a number of the “new driver” 7135*8 drivers (biscotti I believe they are) from Banggood. Once installed, It seems to not want to get out of memory mode. I removed the driver and reinstalled another brand new one. same problem!

I can switch through different mode groups no problem but it’s jammed in Memory ON mode which renders the light near useless to me.

Two drivers in row?! does this make any sense?

Just to be clear. this is how I go about attempting to turn memory off:

I click a bunch of times, light blinks then buzzes, then blinks twice and buzzes again. During that second buzz I turn the light off.
Am I not following the instructions properly? please help if you can. I can’t imagine that I installed to equally faulty drivers back to back.

Thank you

**Edit- Purchase was from Banggood not Ali Express like I previously mentioned. I edited it above already

Have a look There

I had the same kind of issue with an S2+ "new firmware" (memory mode was working but everything was way too fast)

Yeah, from reading that other thread It seems like biscotti is problematic to many users. Bumber

I experienced this also with a C8 Clear. It seems there was a bug in the firmware. I believe the only fix is to reflash it with the bug-free version.

The bothersome thing is that the bug was known some time ago, yet Convoy are still shipping flashlights with this issue. If it was old stock sitting in a warehouse in a third-party store I could understand. But you say you bought direct from Simon on Aliexpress? Not very good.

**Edit-

Purchase was from Banggood NOT Ali Express like I previously mentioned. I edited it above already. Sorry for the misinformation.

Pretty sure you’re supposed to half-press to shut down mode memory, just like when picking mode groups. Especially on the “fast” Biscotti iteration, where the timing for a button press is about .25 second or something just as quick.

When biscotti was introduced (2years ago?), the speed problem was identified in a week from the release. I have been waiting ever since for the first batch to sell out to be sure that any biscotti driver that I bought did not have the problem. But with these drivers still around this moment may never come (can’t flash myself, do not even have a windows computer).

Pity because it would be one of my go-to drivers for clicky builds.

Djozz, you don’t need a windows computer to Flash ATTiny-based drivers. I do it from MacOS. Should work exactly the same way from Linux.

I’m using other people’s hex files, for now. I haven’t delved into what it will take to do a fresh build, yet.

I did not know that, have to find out then maybe if my ancient Mac is still up to doing new stuff
