Looking for affordable 14250 light.

A good friend gave me a few 14250 cells. I don’t have a light that takes them so I went on a hunt to find one. I found a few. Found the DQG and the Maratac. $30 and $43 respectively. A bit rich for me in a light that small. The output on both of those lights were fine for me. They could even be less powerful for all I really care. Would gain some more run time for sure. So, does anyone have any other ideas or directions in which to point me?

I’m kinda interested to know too. Sure you could modify a AA/14500 light with a 6V emitter or use with a buck driver. How about a 2xAA light, modded with a XHP-35 HI and use 4x 14250 cells? But a single 14250 light would be neat too.

I do so happen to have a Zanflare F2 on the way. Not sure the modding potential of it though. Hmmmmm………….

Well, with careful modding, if you can get your resistance losses down to a minimum, you could have a VERY interesting Zanflare F2. The rated maximum of XHP-35 HD in the CREE PCT is 1.050A @ 12.85V for ~1833 lumens. You might be able to get a bit more.

I experimented with some 90mAH rated Veleno Designs 10180 cells a while back. I put several emitters in parallel to keep the Vf down. I was able to pull ~1.5A from a single 10180 cell! That’s almost 17c rate. Not bad.

EDIT: That is IF you can mod the Zanflare F2. I don’t know if it can be modded either. So no help from me on that. Sorry.
