convoy c8 spring gets a little darker after 1week of using a laptop 18650

hello gentlemen I’m new here and also I’m new in a flashlight world of enthusiast the question is does a worn spring affect the performance of my convoy c8 sorry for my english and also does a remaining weld spot of 18650 that I got from a laptop battery pack scratch the springs? I can’t remove the weld spot using a sand paper, I’m scared that I can damage the battery using an abrasive drill bit using a electric drill, and please guys can you post the picture of your used spring so I can see if my spring is in bad condition I just got my c8 a week ago https://imgur.com/a/IzMhcGH

The worn spring is not going to hurt unless it is compressed so much that it is not making a connection and changing to the next mode. The spot weld can be removed with a file or Dremel. My guess is that the laptop pull battery is a dud. About half of them or more are. Test the capacity and resistance and throw it away if it a poor performer. There are always more where that came from.

ATL INR18650 Cell Specifications | Second Life Storage & Solar that is the battery I got it from a 11 year old laptop, by the way I’m gonna spend more money of buying a rotary drill? the battery is still good and its in 2000mah specification when I first charge it the cell is 0 volt, the charger I use is xtar vc4 I wonder if the spring is a real gold plated or copper coated or brass coated by the way if I sand paper the spring does the spring get oxidize quickly?
