Utorch XPL V6 stepless dimming ?

Anyone got one of these "Utorch XPL V6 stepless dimming" ?

Can't find anything about that except the GB description.

The description is the same as the "no stepless dimming" one with the same pictures the only thing is it says "rotating the barrel for stepless dimming" and i am wondering if this is really a rotating thing and what it looks like.

I was wondering the same thing. I am waiting for someone to actually have one that can report back as to how it works. I was wondering how they would do that when the pictures look exactly the same as the non stepless one. I have a bunch of the non stepless and they are just fine, very curious about this stepless one though.

Just ordered one with the code from Fin.
I have no idea how it will work…

Looks like we are all in the same boat ;-)

First who receive it tells the others !

From the pic, the general appearance of the light looks like a Convoy. I’d be very surprised if this thing has a magnetic ring installed. I suspect the “stepless dimming” version is still controlled with the tailcap switch.

I ordered one last week just to see for myself. Got a code from FIN but it never worked and he never responded when I messaged him with the error. They are on sale for $8.99 right now at Gearbest. Hopefully it will be an interesting light for that price.

Reading between the lines on the description, I wonder if the operation is similar to old Fenix lights that used a non-anodized threads on the body tube to have two sets of modes available depending on whether or not the tube was in contact with a contact point on the back of the PCB.

IIRC, the 4sevens tactical lights also used this system, but you could program a level for each setting. I’m thinking that Utorch may be trying to describe a system like that…

I got mine in the mail today. It took me a few tries to figure it out.
Instructions say only,” Knob that front cover for half circle, light brightness will adjust from low to high, or from high to low. Then twist tight the front cover, brightness stop adjust, keep the current brightness. Memory function.
I have tried every combination of pressing the button half pressing the button and twisting both the front section and the tail.
What finally worked is turn on Low for example
Turn the head as if to unscrew it but stop at 90 degree rotation.
After about one second delay it will ramp up to high. Takes about 5-6 seconds. Turn it back right and it stays there. Turn off tail Clicky and it will remember that brightness light Neil you half click again.
It has three decent Levels already, but this allows you one temporary custom mode between them. I could not get a moonlight level. Low is the lowest.
If it had a 3/5 mode like the Convoy I would avoid the blink modes altogether.
For $7 I will give it to a friend. Not sure this is an improvement. Seems a lateral move?

Has anyone recieved one of these yet? Been over a month and have not seen one yet. I’ve ordered 3 all together.

Hijacking a little here but I had one of the non step-free dimming arrive today. I can’t figure out if there’s a way to reprogram/disable the blinking/flashing/strobe modes. Anyone able to help?

Afaik there's no way to remove the blinkies

Got mine today. Just unscrew the head a little and it will start dimming and elevating in brightness. Tighten it and it stops where you want it. Weird but works fine. Tail switch still works like the non stepless version.

Got mine 3 days ago.

The ramping is slow and the pill can be opened through the besel (reflector) …no glue.

I wish they make the ramp faster and remove the freak strobes.
