That’s a lot of light in a tight package.

(4) SST-40’s with (3) Olsen flat blacks???

This would make a beast beam with it being relatively throwy and high lumem

The render makes it look like a stubby 26650 type of light. But doing the conversion on the dimensions, this thing is really small— like Zebralight small. I wonder how it will handle 7 high cri emitters.

I already know the SST20 4000k is an awesome LED, once you put a minus green filter over it, but will this new host dethrone my ROT66? Hm.

Interesting design. A touch too busy for my tastes (knurling + tailcap + vents + stainless steel). Could be a little more refined (less is more).
I have a DQG 26650 and love the 7 x LED setup.

Great LED options.
No real interest in Fet+1 Linear drivers. I would prefer an efficient fully regulated buck/boost driver and sacrifice total output that only lasts less than 1 minute.

I think we would just need buck on this light with so many LEDs in parallel.

I love it, but not sure if i need so many LEDs for a small light.

Will make for a great show-off light with a fully charged high drain 21700 cell. Your friends at the party only need to see the light shine for 10 seconds anyways. :wink:

A full on buck-boost driver would be nifty.

I like it, why not use only 4 leds? Also maybe add USB charging, Narsil / Anduril user interface and a illuminated button…

It’s just 2 LED less than a ROT66 in a single cell package. That’s cool and all but it’s still almost s double quad. In a smaller host. How are you going to handle the heat?

I sorta like the idea of the 7 emitters in this head size, it will make for slightly more efficient lower outputs.

The only thing I ask is please don’t make a super sharp lanyard hole on the edge of the tailcap, like the D4S. That just kills comfort.

Buck would be used for the primary battery life but boost would assist with regulation as soon as the battery goes from 3V to 2.8V. Boost would be icing on the cake if paired with a buck driver.

The Fet setting will def be the center of attention at any gathering, but I guess it depends on how you intend to use the light. For me the appeal of a 7 LED light is efficiency and less heat, and for some its higher Turbo. I must admit, I do enjoy both :slight_smile:

7 LEDs can achieve the same brightness as 4 LEDS but with better efficiency, and less heat. The total output is also increased for those chasing the most lumens. A brighter light with more regulated runtime is always a plus!

My DQG 26650 can sustain 1000 lumens regulated without stepping down or overheating. If I am not mistaken, this can’t be achieved with a 1 LED, Triple or Quad in a tiny host. The only downside I see with a 7 x LED light is that the optics are difficult to find and the only option is the one that comes with the light. The nice thing about quads and triples is that Carclo offers throwier and floodier options.

Whoa, i didn't realize until you have mentioned. I have to be mindful of it from now on.

Only gripe is all the different patterns on the light but I think the light has great potential. I would not focus on all these other posts asking you to redesign their own personal light. Instead, focus on what you learned from the ROT66 and avoid making those same mistakes. If this ends up being more refined and reliable it will be successful.

Super interested. This is basically what the Emisar D7 was supposed to be. I also love multi-emitter lights, the more the better, because that increases efficiency. 21700 is also perfect for this light. Would love to see more aux light color options. Buck/boost driver would be ideal. USB-C charging would be great as that would make for good gift lights.

This looks awesome. Would love to see photos of the prototype.
