I have a few they are mostly kept as knives I am ok treating as one should not use a knife for. Prying, jabbing holes in light tin work, running the sharpened end across packing staples. You know if fits the profile as a abuse knife.
I do like the carbon steel versions as you can force a vinegar patina on them to keep the blades less likely to rust ( They still will.) They also seem to hold an edge better than the SS ones.
The takeaway from most comparisons on YT and elsewhere seems to be: no big difference in edge strength. Stainless has the obvious advantage of being stainless, but resharpening is _ a lot _ easier with carbon steel (some type of C100 IIRC).
And yes these are great utility knives. Even the Basic (2mm blade thickness) handles abuse like a champ.
