Acebeam X70 owners --- IMPORTANT--- PLEASE READ THIS

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Hopefully X70 owners read this and take the necessary precautions to prevent damaging their new X70's.

Vinh posted this on his SkyLumen website.

Recent Finding: Thrower LED when powered alone can not handle the high current and may literally smoke. When all LEDs are ON everything seem OK. Strongly recommend to always run light with all LEDs ON. At least this applies for Turbo. This applies to ALL lights modded or not.

Wait, is it possible for Acebeam to actually be overdriving the XHP35HI so much it’s smoking?

Damn that it not good.

Alternative ideas: very poor thermal path on the center LED. Or very bad thermistor placement. Or both.

Well as long as it’s good to go as long as all the leds are going it’s no big deal, after all the x70 is a pretty pathetic thrower for its size with just the xhp35.

It is not pathetic. Name another massive flooder light that reaches 300k lux?
I’ll wait.

Olight x9r?
Imalent DX80?
Imalent MS12?

Ordered an Acebeam X80 last week and Vinh says to run turbo for 15 sec max at a time on his website so pretty normal for acebeam to not have enough heat sinking. I knew this and still ordered it for the fun factor. If they would drop the battery pack on the X70, I'd probably get one of those too.

It’s no big deal…unless you own an X70.

Then it’s a big deal.

I see no need to run just the xhp35. If I were to just run the center LED I have other lights of smaller platform that can get me even better performance.
