On my shelf I have a nice Maglite 2D body with beeefy copper heatsink and bored body to accomadate 2S2P 18650. Now it’s time to finish this mod. I wanted to put three XHP50.2 in it (wired in parallel, 5A on each LED), but I can’t find any suitable driver for it - needs to run on 2S Li-Ion, deliver something like 15A to LEDs and diameter <32mm, preferably controlled via microswitch. There was a LD-B4HV from power4LED, but it’s out of stock. Do You know any driver that would suit my needs?
Lexel should be able to provide you a sweet TA FET driver with 2S configuration and Narsil firmware.
I have one in a 2D Maglite with 2*26650 in series and an MT-G2
2S 15A regulated on 32mm is not gonna happen on standard driver from me
DD is unregulated and should work with 2S/2P
It is possible to make a special custom driver with 2x7.5A buck steps on it on 32mm but then you are looking on 100€ developing plus like 30€ prototype board including parts
DD in turbo mode - hmm that’s gonna be like 10A per LED at cold start… That would be fine :smiling_imp:
At what current (or level, if I choose to use modes) will it have regulated output? 2,5A per LED would be OK.
Maybe ask L4P when will he have a new batch?
Probably not soon as he indicated that he was working on a new driver generation - and the last time he delivered HV later than 3V.
But maybe…
