Hi from RVA

Hello Folks,

I'd like to introduce myself. I am a longtime gear aficionado. I've been a knife collector for decades. I love EDC gear. I am a member of several other forums that some of you may also belong to such as Bladeforums (don't really spend much time there) the USN (probably where I spend most of my time) CPF and a few others. I've been lurking here and reading a lot. I think what appeals to me most about BLF is the B part. In other words working with and enjoying really great gear without breaking the bank. I was into collecting custom knives for a long time. I had single pieces that cost over $2000 USD at times. And you know what? I NEVER used them because they were so expensive. They were part of a collection that was admired and seldom, if ever, used. About a year or so ago, I decided to stop all that nonsense and stick to gear that was made, and priced to use, and I started enjoying the gear I acquired a lot more because I was carrying it and using it all the time. I've carried some sort of light with me for years as part of my EDC. These days its a Reylight Pineapple. Sure I like Hanko's, Okluma's, HDS, and others but they would end up being museum pieces just like my custom knives were. Anyway, thanks for letting me join. I look forward to learning a lot and hopefully contributing a lot eventually. I'm on the East Coast of the USA in Richmond, Virginia.

Welcome Taylor. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I do.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the reply! My introduction thread at another forum got a grand total of 0 replies. Needless to say it wasn't exactly a very warm welcome. Haha.

We're very glad to have you here, grizzley!

Thank you RC. I usually wait until you have posted, but today I bet you to it.

Here is a light you might be interested in. There will be a wait, long wait I am sure, but it looks to be a great light for the money.

I can assure you that what you think the B stands for here no longer applies.
Hi and welcome to the poor house. :money_mouth_face:

Welcome grizzley. I’m sure you will enjoy it here. Lots of great people.

Thanks RC!

Welcome to BLF grizzley  But don’t let the B mislead you  This is almost a home rent sometimes
Enjoy it here :+1:

Yep, you're right. I love it and it's right up my alley. Love the machining and the form factor! My carry lights of choice are usually around a light that runs on a 14500 and I usually keep a larger, more powerful light in the pack I carry with me every day. I really like this light though because it should be easily pocketable and have plenty of juice from a 18650 cell.

Thank you my friend!!

Lol...thank you for the warning and the welcome!!

Thank you my friend!!

Welcome to BLF, grizzley! Though as people said, the B doesn’t stand by principle :stuck_out_tongue: Not really because the stuff we see, share, discuss and make isn’t budget friendly, on the contrary. You’d be scared if you knew beforehand how the cheap cost of several torches purchased in a row adds up! But I guess you’ll find that out in your own time, lol

Welcome grizzley !!

Best part of this forum is we actually con manufacturers to build flashlights to our specifications in a somewhat reasonable price range.
Sure we argue about petty crap from time to time like any other family that I know, but it’s all good.

Great people here and glad to have you.
Later

Keith

Thanks Jack!

Hey Taylor! Welcome to BLF!

Thanks David!
