Poptel P60 phablet on gearbest for $199.99 with code

By luck a couple days ago I saw this article:

https://www.xda-developers.com/poptel-p60-global-pre-sales-start-under-200-with-128gb-of-storage-ai-camera-and-2k-display/

Though it has a mediatek chip, the features are pretty impressive and I thought it worth mentioning. Nearly every band included and 6 GB ram and 128GB storage, dual sim, 1.2M impact and 5 ft 1 hr waterproof… for $200 seems like a good deal.

Ordered one for mom and am hoping for bootloader unlock and rom options to appear once these phones reach users. Can’t afford one for myself but I’m still satisfied with my oneplus one now running 9.0 based posp.

I would try it out if it weren’t for the lack of software updates, lack of, or even impossibility, of quality control, and bad camera.

The camera is probably going to be very bad knowing about Chinese generic phone manufacturers, and basically no software update.

Also, no USB-C in a 2018 phone is a no go for me.

Problem with usb-c is variation in implementation between manufacturers. As for the camera, I’ll find out when it arrives. Fwiw, 5000 mAh battery is another +.

edit: according to this page the main camera is a 15.93 MP Samsung S5K3P3.

Yes, but software is what really matters, along with optics.

The best way to look at this is how the Pocofone F1 has the same sensor as the Pixel 3, but doesn’t take as good pictures as it, because of HDR+ and better tech in the Pixel 3.

Saw the thread, and started thinking… “Damn, that’s one hella expen$ive drop-in!”.

I’m not trying to sell it and have no incentive. I’m just providing info on a device I suspect may prove to be a bargain.

Ditto !… :open_mouth: First thought the same. Wasn’t even gonna click on the thread. But ya know Curiosity… :money_mouth_face:

Then my brain popped back into joint……

for 200$, u can get xiaomi mi 6x, which is from xiaomi, a bigger brand
u have snapdragon 660 not some crappy mediatek, 4gb ram which is very suitable in 2018, and dual camera with quality can compare to mid-high end smartphone

For that price I might think twice or wait more months to see if it’s worth it.
