EDC headlight with wow factor recommendations?

Well a small wow factor is enough…
I’m trying to find a nice headlight as a christmas present for my old man. He loves to walk his dog in the evening on the dark counry roads. And chopping wood for sauna etc.
But I also know that he really appreciates if his headlamp would be little better than neighbours one
So simple, and simple UI, but maybe with a little twist. Do you have any recommedations?
Maybe 18650 cell, usb charge. Maybe available somewhere in EU because I don’ trust Aliexpress in this case…

Do you have a price limit?

Well, something around 50€. But thats flexible if something really nice comes in. Lower budget versions too.
I personally like Fenix HP25R, thats my hunting headlight. But now I’m looking someting much simplier for edc and 75 years old guy.

How tech savvy is he? I guess something AA/AAA only, right? Or usb charging is ok? Or even 18650 with charging outside of the light in extra charger?

Not A*’s. All grandpas here carry those.

OK, so something better than A*
For “usb” (magnetic) charging, I think skillhunt h03 rc should be nice, is well in the budget and has enough power to win any argument with his neighbor

Note: Never used this one, only the H03 (without magnetic charging) and quality is good, so I have trust in this newer version

You will see what other recommendations do you get

That’s quite nice, but I think I’m looking for something with double lens. One flood, and one throw. And maybe dual switch because simple ui.

That will be a tough one. Dual led is usually more high-end = higher price and more features (more complicated ui).
I can’t think of anything, so I tried parametrek searcher. Only thing I found out was Nitecore NU25 (but that has integrated battery, not a 18650) and… nothing else.
You can give it a try, if you find anything interesting:

YLP Panda 3 goes in this grandpa gategory, but have very complicated ui. Actually thinking if I need order one for myself…

Well. I actually looked more that skillhunt. That 90 degrees build isn’t maybe so bad for this purpose. I personally don’t like those but for inteded use they must be very good. Any other suggestions?
I see this skillhunt is 4 years old at least. I’m sure there is already better lights out for the money.

Take a look at Nitecore HC 65. Wow factor is there. Dual lamps with flood and spot. 18650 powered with built in charger and battery included I just got one from Lightmalls for 58.00. Shipped to US in only 2 weeks. I have several headlamps and this is a new favorite.

Beware, that skilhunt are two versions - older and newer. The new one has “RC” in name and allows charging.

I’ve checked the Nitecore HC65 (it’s manual), despite it was over set budget. I don’t think it would be the best option as that ui with halfpress is not really easy. Also (from my personal view), don’t like CW and don’t understand why it has combination CW spot + NW flood. Last point, it says that NW flood is only 26 lm (not much) and just on/off. Enough to read a book, but not enough to make side-shadows disappear when walking/running in a forest

Wow. I want that nitecore for me. But for this use maybe too hardcore.
Sorry to be inaccurate, but I really don’t know what to expect in this category & class nowadays.
Thats why I asked.

Maybe something which is usable as a flashlight and headlight is the best for this kind of guy.
Long runtime. I think double led is better forget.
Lucky Luke fast draw from pocket.

Yeah the UI is a little aggravating and I am a headlight nerd.
