In need of one for security purposes. The viewer must meet the following requirements:
1)can be viewed with a smartphone
2)external facing side must look like a regular door viewer(no doorbell, lights, whatnot)
3)motion detecting
4)can take pictures and videos
It should preferably use rechargeable li-ion batteries, although i’m not too optimistic about such a thing existing. Also, preferably costs below $250. Any recommendations?
yup that’s it, although preferably i should be able to view live on my phone, and with a discreet exterior unit too. The Brinno falls short on the former.
I have seen peephole cameras that come with a wifi connection, but since I don’t own one I will try to remember where I saw it. Could’ve been Home Depot or at a friends’ place…
ok. basically the unit should be like the Yale door viewer in this listing on Amazon, Yale-45-0500-1432-00-60-1-Digital-Door-Viewer/dp/B00BN1KXAC. But, with wireless viewing capability. The strange thing is that all the wired models have pretty short cables, nullifying the benefits of digital.
I have 5 Wyze USB powered cameras. One of them in a bay window that shows my front door. They run off the internet so you have access when you’re not home. Video quality is excellent.
The Wyze cameras tempted me, until I found out I’d need to buy a newer-than-my-iPhone4 to see the images.
I inquired and their help desk isn’t allowed to recommend either a cheap Android phone/tablet, or a PC Android emulator, that would work with their app. They can only recommend their own product, not the necessary other hardware needed for it to work.
Too bad, it sounds like a good camera for someone who’s up to date with a newish Apple or Android device.
